i'll be pulling for dos santos but i reckon velasquez wins by TKO with ground & pound in the 3rd. (as long as he's 100% after his injury)
he's too well rounded and his fitness is far superior to anything we've seen before at heavyweight. i don't see anyone beating velasquez for a while, the UFC has it's first great HW champion imo.

TKO in the 3rd is my best guess. Cain has his hand raised. I actually hope it is a battle back and forth and more people start turning it on as they hear from their friends.

Mark Munoz - "If it stays on the feet, I'll go with Junior dos Santos. If it goes to the ground, I'll go with Cain Velasquez."
Tito Ortiz - "I love Cain, I hope he gives Dos Santos an ass-whooping."
Krzysztof Soszynski - "I'm gonna go with the champ, with Cain. I think his overall wrestling skills and his clinch game on the inside, and his striking on the inside is gonna win him the fight..."
Jake Ellenberger - "Someone's going to get knocked out for sure, but I couldn't even tell you who's going to win that fight."

Dos Santos is gonna be allowed to throw 10 strikes in this fight if he is lucky. When will people learn?

Nah, u don't sit through a half hour worth of "who cares?" starring Dana White and Brock just to see a 64 second fight. It wasn't a bust, but that was not an awesome show for the noobs.

Well it was definitely better than a 5 round snooze fest but I agree it would have been better if it lasted longer than 1 minute.

They should have had Bendo vs. Guida on the broadcast.

No doubt, that is the danger of a one fight card. It could be super quick, it could be a bore. Multiple fights up the chances for good fights. Not that that was a bad fight, but it was 64 seconds. Sporting events need to be longer then that.

yea but there was a chance that fight was gonna be boring. 2 wrestlers goin at it. Even though it ended up being a very good fight.

all fights have a chance to be boring, or as in the case of cain vs Jr, end very quickly. The single fight format carried a big risk, and even with an impressive KO, it kind of blew up on the UFC/FOX.

i agree. i wonder if it was Fox that pushed the single fight thing. I really dont get it. It seemed more like an experiment than the launch of a new partnership.

It was an experiment. At least they didn't pull an EliteXC and put on Kimbo then run over by an hour or so.

Personally I would have much preferred the fights running over the allotted time. Why is fitting within a one hour time slot a good thing?
Not talking skill, or importance, but Kimbo vs Thomson far exceeded Cain vs Jr in terms of drama. And in terms of post fight interest, Drama is the most important factor.

fox has news at 10 every night right? Ufc cards usually start at 9 or 10. Unless they start earlier i dont see how you could ever fit a full fight card on fox.

again, speaking from a point of ignorance, not sure that the weekend shows adhere to the weeklytime slots.
