| If these 2 fights were at a bowling ally I would be excited for them so the fact they are in Canada means little to me. | |

| Only in MMA,, can a fighter get fucking blasted in 64 seconds.......and have a rematch after 1 win.
Sorry guys, bash me if you want, this is a joke. Cain has not earned this title shot after that pathetic performance on FOX 1.

| He may not have earned it like you would usually see, but with Ubereem suspended, Cormier injured and still in SF anyway, Frank now used up, and Werdum only coming off one win since losing to Overeem himself. Nothing wrong with Cain getting the shot here.

Cormier, Werdum, Barnett, Hunt, MIKE RUSSOW IS MORE DESERVING RIGHT NOW Seriously, you don't get blasted in 60 seconds, win 1 fight and all of a sudden your ready for the rematch. Its seriously on par with giving Hatton a rematch against Pac after getting crushed.

Its seriously on par with giving Hatton a rematch against Pac after getting crushed. Cormier and Barnett have 1 more fight left in SF. Barnett just got blasted anyway. Who the fuck have Hunt and Russow beat to get a shot? |

Who the fuck have Hunt and Russow beat to get a shot? Hunt is on a 3 fight win streak with wins over Tuscherer (Brocks sparring partner so ya), Ben Rothwell (legit top 20) and Cheick Kongo (top 20-25) , Russow is on 11 fight win streak with wins over Todd Duffee, Jon Madsen and the Viking Einomo. I think winner of Werdum vs Russow should get next title shot. I would rather see that than the rematch of the guy who got smashed in 64 seconds not even a year ago.

| Barnett lost and easily to a guy that wasn't in the top 5 and not the champ. Cain was the champ and lost the title in his first fight back of surgery. He deserves the shot. |

| Cain got blasted by Cigano when Cain was still trying to feel out JDS, I think thats the main reason he blitzed Big Foot.
How do you think that will work out vs JDS in the rematch?

Cormier isn't top 5? I said wasn't in the top 5. He is after that win. |

I actually think it helped Cain to get KOed so fast rather than get beat up for 4 or 5 rounds. I think alot of fans think Cain was rusty and coming off of injury and thats why he looked the way he did. So after beating Big Foot down every1 says now thats the Cain we know and love so let him fight JDS when he is 100% and the outcome maybe different. It may not be true but I do think that is the logic behind such a fast rematch.

| Now Jon Fitch, one of Cain's teammates at the American Kickboxing Academy is telling Tatame.com that Velasquez fought injured (translation via FiveKnuckles.com): - Quote :
"I think that in the first fight, he did't show everything he could do. He had a severe knee injury, and was limited by what he could do, but it was such an important fight so he couldn't miss it. It was important for the company, for the fans and for the world. He continued, even knowing that he should not. He went against the advice of everyone on the team, and doctors, but pulling from the card was not an option at the time. It will be very different with him being able to show all his tools. He was hurt and thinking about his knee. He wanted to kick the legs of Junior, but he was thinking, 'I can't kick.' When your head is not in the fight, you get hurt."

Yeah he was injured as well. But neither guy was pulling out of that fight. Saw this today. Just one quote from entire interview. - Quote :
- "When I hurt my knee 10 days before the fight, I was very worried," dos Santos said. "I'm not shy to say, but I cried. I was two days walking with crutches, and that was very tough for me. But then I started to do my physical therapy, and my knee came around again."
