- I think Aldo wrecks Frankie, come on guys, Aldo has killer instinct for days and Grays lack of that is the only reason he isn't the LW champ right now. Aldo would hurt and finish Frankie in the first round. And if Frankie trys to play it safe and dance around Aldo will smash this thigh slow his movement then go in for the kill.
I do think that the cut to 145 is taking to much out of Aldo or atleast right now it seems that way and that's why I think he didn't finish Kenny. He looked tired early in the fight. Gray was accused of trying too hard to finish the first fight in the first round... now he has no killer instinct because he picked his shots

| Go ahead disagree but you guys know damn well that if Aldo stunned Frankie that fights over.
And Killer when I say killer instinct I don't mean just throw windly once you know a guy is hurt it's the ability to finish brother and in both fights Gray showed a lack of that

If Aldo didn't catch him early on I doubt he would win this fight though. Frankie can still take a punch and knows what to do if he gets stunned. Aldo is mean when he comes after a guy he just rocked. This would be a great fight to see no doubt. I hope they fight in 2012.

| Frankie's only hope vs Aldo is to bounce around for 5 rounds and win a decision. Aldo has better boxing and enough takedown defense to keep it standing most of the fight. | |

well that formula has worked pretty well for him. And it's not like it hasn't worked vs excellent boxers with great takedown defence.

| Bouncing around and winning a decision is indicative of better boxing. Edgar has the better stand up game. | |

| I'm not so sure I agree with that. I would've probably said he was technically better, although he did get his head beat in two straight fights for a round. Now granted, Maynard is better than the guys Aldo has been fighting, but Aldo was rocking a hands down, straight head movement Anderson Silva style defense against someone with the striking acumen of Mark Hominick and put together some highlight reel stuff. I would favor Aldo in a standup fight | |

Being more active and winning by throwing volume shots, not necessarily landing a ton of good shots is boring. Its 'good' boxing because it will get you wins, but lay n pray on the feet IMO.

| Aldo isn't a better boxer. I don't see why you guys say that? Aldo throws in leg kicks better and he throws alot more akward strikes. That doesn't mean his boxing is better. Frankie does alot better when it comes to movement and ties in his wrestling better. Aldo has stopped TD's but he hasn't stopped one from Edgar. Frankie wouldn't want to stand and bang with Aldo anyway because he would get caught eventually. Aldo is a killer when it comes to that, but Frankie would tie him up before he gets pounced on if it did happen. Frankie has stood with waaaay better competition also. I don't know if it was Ninja or somebody else that said it, but I agree and also think Aldo is the most beatable UFC champion right now. It's just unfortunate that Anderson Silva is gonna have to fight Chael Sonnen before Frankie whips JOE-SAY Aldo. | |

| Who is this way better competition that Frankie has stood with?
Edit: Nvm, I'm assuming you just mean he's fought better fighters, not that there standup ranks up there with Aldo.
Even so, Hominick is a very talented and natural striker even if he's not thought to be as good as the guys Frankie has fought, and Aldo made him look silly

| Aldo didn't make Hominick look silly. Hominick was having success in that fight. Hominick is a better striker than anyone Frankie has stood with. I worry I may start to underrate Aldo's striking, but I saw rounds in both of his last two fights where faster, more technical guys were having success. What makes Aldo such a talent though is his mid fight adjustments. | |

| No way is anyone Aldo fought a better BOXER then BJ Penn. I thought that is what we were talking about. Homnick may be a better striker but Im not gonna say that either.
PS Bobbitt, that sig is awesome!

| Here is what needs to happen. Frankie vs Aldo at 150lbs 5 round main event. Both fighters vacate their current titles. Regardless of how the fight plays out, Aldo vs Bendo/Guida and Frankie vs Mendes for the vacant titles. Aldo cuts alot of weight to get to 155 and Frankie cuts none. I just think it would be better for everyone if they switched weight classes. | |

Hominick has his moments, as I would expect him to against anyone at the feet at 145, but he got next-leveled in a few different spots

| I think Aldo would take it. I could see Edgars takedowns being as effective as others, Aldo's butt on the mat for a second and then right back up. Edgar has more striking yet looks like he has less versatility in what he offers. Power might be about the same though power in the kicks in knees.... Aldo stoppage or 4-1 on the cards. | |

Yeah sounds about right. I think you could argue both a speed and power advantage for Aldo striking department. But I have doubted Frankie before, dude is a straight gamer.

| Dusting it off....
My thoughts remain unchanged. I think Edgar would be capable of winning one out of five rounds, mut it is more likely he is finished before then.
