Frankie Edgar vs Jose Aldo- Who would win?

At a catchweight of 150 in a 5 rounder.

I got Edgar.

Edgar hands down and I am a big fan of Aldo.

I agree. Edgar took Penn down so I think he could take Aldo down. Also Edgar's stamina is way better than Aldo's.

I think Edgar has the best chance of anyone Aldo has fought of actually taking him down. That will be one of the biggest questions in the fight. The other question will be if Aldo can land power strikes before Edgar is gone. I think Aldo has more power and finishing tools, but Edgar is more technical with better fight IQ and heart.

If Edgar can manage to get some takedowns it will make it much harder for Aldo to flow with combinations and kicks. Aldo will be reduced to picking his punches. Will make it easier for Edgar to move around pick Aldo apart.

I like Edgar in that match up.

I got Aldo but its pretty damn close to a coin toss fight.

I wouldn't be surprised if Edgar could get some takedowns. Much like the Penn fights, he wouldn't do shit with them though. If Aldo actively came out working the legs of Frankie I think he would take the figh

edgar easily.aldo has great skill and talent but just like faber was he now is the champ in mmas weakest division. 3 out of his 5 title fights have been against guys who couldnt cut it as 2nd string lws. now he just fought another former 155 pder and went 5 rounds. if anything kenny was a much better 155 pounder than mark/mike or manny ever wer. in the end frankies chin/speed and wrestling win

Flo was 5-2 at lw, with losses to Penn and Maynard, I think u underestimate his level of production at that weight.


And I think at this point in his career(he just turned 25 so maybe at a later date) he would have trouble more then a couple lw's, but against a small guy like edgar, I think he could fair pretty well.

2nd string LWs <<< guys who belonged at 145 lbs

It would be a good fight. I think Edgar would be able to take him down. He would put him up against the fence and beat on him also. Aldo would go after his legs like some of you are saying. Frankie would be too much for him in the end. Kenny had good movement and stayed busy for one round last night. Frankie would do that the whole fight. He would take some leg kicks but he would close the distance alot if and when they fight? I still say Frankie by UD.

kenny is a highly underated lw. dude should move up. he will never be champ but dude would be a legit top 5 lw. the 3 lws i mention as not being able to make it as second sting wer hominick manny and brown. kenny imo is aldos best win over a well rounded most experience vet to date. kenny didnt fight a great fight but still dude is legit

I got Edgar at 145, 150 and 155. Aldo had a tough time with KenFlo for cryin' out loud

No he didn't. Kenny didn't do anything except run when Aldo threw punches and clinch against the fence

Aldo won 2 rounds clearly, Florian 1 and 2 were close but Aldo took them. Close fight. I actually think Aldo would be better at 155 than 145.

Aldo would take this one, with ease I think. His power is lethal in legs and hands, his TD defense is good enough to make Edgar work. I think the big reason why he wins, is he wouldn't have the drastic wasting malaise that Maynard gets from such a hard cut.

I think Aldo wrecks Frankie, come on guys, Aldo has killer instinct for days and Grays lack of that is the only reason he isn't the LW champ right now. Aldo would hurt and finish Frankie in the first round. And if Frankie trys to play it safe and dance around Aldo will smash this thigh slow his movement then go in for the kill.

I do think that the cut to 145 is taking to much out of Aldo or atleast right now it seems that way and that's why I think he didn't finish Kenny. He looked tired early in the fight.
