Jake is 5 at MW, Dan drops out of top 5.
King Mo comes in at 5, and Mousasi is dropped out of my top 5.
Diaz I think I already had top 5.
Fedor he is a cusper, maybe top 10 though.
Couture a top ten fighter? lol. Nog looked like Pacman against him. LHW speed? Come on. He barely survived Vera, Mousasi could cause him brain damage. I have Couture getting stomped by anyone worth a damn at LHW but I still had him at 10 just based on resume. This was before people like Bader had any real wins

| Fedor is my #1: agreed.
HW 1. Fedor 2. Brock 3. Carwin 4. Cain 5. Mir 6. JDS 7. Nog 8. Barnett 9. Rogers 10. Overeem
I drop both Hendo and Mousasi from the lower end of the top ten to out of it altogether. Mo is knocking on the door.
LHW 1. Machida 2. Anderson 3. Evans 4. Forrest 5. Rua 6. Lil Nog 7. Rampage 8. Thiago 9. Bader 10. Jon Jones
Shields is top five with wins over Okami, Lawler and Hendo. Very impressive.
MW 1. Anderson 2. Sonnen 3. Nate 4. Shields 5. Maia 6. Hendo 7. Belfort 8. Okami 9. Akiyama 10. Lawler
Nick is top ten and close to top five. I'm just not sure who will test him at Strikeforce to get him in the top five.
WW 1. GSP 2. Fitch 3. Alves 4. Paulo Thiago 5. Koscheck 6. Diego Sanchez 7. Nick Diaz 8. Daley 9. Hardy 10. Hughes
It's fair to have Melendez in there, but I'm reluctant. I actually think Thomson is in there too. If Alvarez loses to Neer, it changes everything.
LW 1. Gray 2. Edgar 3. BJ 4. Melendez 5. Kenny 6. Shinya Aoki 7. Alvarez 8. Sherk 9. Griffin 10. Thomson

| 1. Machida 2. Shogun 3. Rashad 4. Rampage 5. Little Nog - all these pretty obvious. 6. Mo - his big win is bigger than Vera or Jardine in terms of the heart and skills he displayed combined with the quality of opponent. 7. Bones - Yo Bones is the real deal too. He could beat Mo maybe, maybe not. 8. Bader - Same story as the both Jones and Lawal, and represents yet another serious prospect in the post Pride era, an era who in terms of new prospects has been utterly monopolized by young wrestlers at both LHW and HW. 9. Thiago Silva - his loss against Rashad is probably his most impressive fight. Signature win a loss? Still, he is improving each fight and is a talented fighter. Rashad beat him the same way Mo beat Mousasi though, and the same way many fighters like this will lose. 10. Mousasi - I'm not mad at ya Gegard. Wrestling will be your focus now. GSP will help you. This will make you stronger. You can be Shogun. You will always be weak to wrestlers though. Can you adapt? 11. Forrest - Scraping by (and mostly due to third round fatigue) against a super rusty and possibly seriously injured returning Ortiz after two straight KTFO's, in light of the rest of the division's movement, means you must exit the top ten Forrest. 12. Luiz Cane - hit the top ten for a while, but was busted up quick by the first elite fighter he faced.
Ok throw mo at 6. My bad. | |

Forrest has beaten Shogun, Page, Tito, the guy just got KO by Anderson big deal

in my opinion
Yeah, I know. I just can't those two wins over Rampage and SHogun out of my head. My rankings always start with W/L records and MMA math, and from there I go gut. If I go by gut, then Forrest is at the bottom of the list.

| I'd definitely have him in the top 5 at the very least. Hendo was the #2 MW so I don't disagree with a top 3 assessment. | |

top 3 at 185. He'd house Maia and Nate. Sorry, but there's no way he beats Maia or Nate. Shields was very impressive last night by showing he can take punishment and lose a round, and then adapt his gameplan to win the fight. I think almost everyone assumed, after the first round, that Hendo was gonna have an easy win, but the champ proved us wrong. Again, very impressive, but I still don't think he'd beat the two guys mentioned. Can he hang with them? Definitely, he is at that level, but he needs to improve his overall game.

| Name one fighter who EVER controlled Demian Maia on the ground. Dan Henderson got Shields in a crucifix twice, what do you think Maia would do? Meanwhile he's trying not to get subbed by Maia all over the place every 45 seconds this is on the ground. There is a reason Anderson didn't go to the ground with Maia, and a reason Maia is called the greatest Jiu Jitsu Player of his generation. Shields' punching power is very very limited, almost anyone else with a full mount like that on Dan Henderson would have finished the fight in the second round. Sometimes I wonder if you don't post ridiculous things like this just to get a rise out of people.

please, I just saw jake's purple belt teammate totally own a guy who was at the top of the jj food chain. Maia subs shields every 45 secs of the fight? and my statements are ridiculous?

| yeah, a purple belt in Jiu Jitsu using his Wrestling and spraw and superior striking to win a fight against a guy who's standup is shit, who would have thought? Henderson had Shields in a crucifix position TWICE in the fight. You think Demian Maia would get beaten by him? Settling into Aoki's guard and pressing him against the cage until you can get the hell out of dodge before the shitstorm happens is a bit different than out jiu jitsu-ing the most accomplished jiu jitsu practitioner in the game right now. | |
