And I don't see how someone can call themselves a conservative and not vote for that guy.

he does appeal to reasonable libs, thats why John Stewart has pretty much endorsed him. He has raised over 2.2 million dollars in the past 24 hours with his money bomb and i thought he had his best showing in a debate last night even though he is the only one who didn't get a chance to speak in the end.

and that 2.2 mill is all grass roots support... not big banks and lobbyist groups like Romney

From my liberal vantage point, I thought he should be the clear cut conservative leader.
But so called conservatives, are not conservatives. No one I heard last night aside, from Paul, seemed to have any intentions of cutting gov't or reducing the deficit. Yeah they might slash obama care just cause of politics, but I see little intent of implementing true conservative principals.
And then on Hannity post debate, he makes no mention of Paul. Not a peep. They were loving Newt, they were bashing Perry(who is an idiot) they were lukewarm on Cain and Romney. but ZERO mention of Paul. Shows how phony that show is.

thats how this works man. Paul is the only one who is not part of the establishment. The rest of them just repeat talking points, while Paul gives his plan that would actually make significant cuts and balance the budget. They all stand there and tell how how we need to go to war with Iran now and none of them talk about ending any of the other 6 or 7 wars we have going on right now. Ron Paul is saying end our military empire before it brings this country crashing down.
And if you want to raise taxes on the middle class and poor and destroy small businesses in the process, then go ahead and vote for Herman. He sure seems to "mis-speak" a lot though.

My problem with Paul is he is to radical to get any bills passed. He has never had a bill he wrote been passed in congress. We almost saw a government shutdown recently because of the budget and we will defiantly need see one under him. He will have cuts that anger the left and anger the right and in the end neither party would vote for his budget. People like him because he does not cave in, but I don't think he knows the difference between caving in and compromising. I agree with him on a lot of issues but I just don't see how he could any of the things he wants passed in the legislature.

but again, why is he too radical for conservatives. certainly some of his stuff is, but I would think that much of his principals would be hailed by the conservative core.
At the very least the Tea Party should be carrying this guy on their shoulders.
Kind of like how Bernie Saunders should be the liberal hero. Yet u never hear a word regarding this guy.

the tea party was founded by grass roots ron paul supporters in 2007. It was mocked by fox news and the establishment at first. Its focus was establishing a constituional government (small gov) with emphasis on personal liberties and lowering taxes on the average american. The movement became too big to ignore and so the neo-cons took it over and Sarah Palin, Rick Perry, Herman Cain, are sad examples as what the tea party is. It has been completely hijacked by the establishment right. It is now just another name for stereotypical republicans.
And you need to understand, you may think his ideas are "radical". But look at what the current "normal?" policies and phiosophy of governmnet has gotten us. In my opinion the radicals have been in charge for years, and there policies have torn this country apart and we are on the verge of another great depression. If you aren't willing to come to terms with the reality that doing the same old thing and electing the smae old politicians isn't going to change anything then there is no point in even having this conversation. Look at where the funding of all of these establishment candidates comes from.... the same big banks and mega corporations that get the bail out money when they wreck the economy.
Where does Ron Paul get his campaign money from? 100% Grass roots. And a large percentage from military personnel, more than double all the other candidates combined. Keep that in mind when the debates about foreign policy start.

When I say radical I mean thats how everyone in the legislature will view them. I'm a very liberal guy and I might vote for Paul if he wins the primary but you have to admit his history of not passing anything in the legislature is very concerning

His bills make too much sense and are not laden with pork. Special interest groups do not benefit from them, just regular people. So, no, unless the attitude towards the role of the government changes, most of what he authors will not pass. But, he should keep doing the right thing nonetheless. Its up to the people to vote in representitives who also reflect the will of the people, like Ron Paul. This is really the only logical conclusion to come to, that or we come face to face with what the current policies and political philosophy are leading to, and i dont think anyone can be realistically optimistic about what that is.

"I completely respect your opinion on Ron Paul and there are a lot of things about him I agree with and like, but something really confuses me when it comes to him. There are A LOT of conspiracy guys that say what you said, you trust/believe him and think he will be the one to make the difference in this country, (which I agree is completely out of control), so two questions, what makes you believe he's not another evil politician lying to get the votes, and how can people who question every step our govt makes "blindly" follow anyone?"
Ok. What makes me believe that Ron Paul is not another evil politician lying to get the votes is his track record and the consistency of his message. With these other GOP candidates like Romney and Perry, even Cain, they often flip flop on issues. Romney basically wrote obamacare and Perry used to be a democrat who supported al gore. Ron Paul has been preaching the same message since the 70's. He even predicted the housing bubble. Ron Paul has always stood for the same things and that is why he is the enemy of the establishment. That is why there is a media bias towards him. If Ron Paul were to be gotten to by the same special interests everyone would know instantly and be furious because the message he has always preached is the opposite of what has been going on in washington for so long. Plus i just think he has too much character and integrity to fold to them.
And it is great if you really do question things our government does, sometimes you guys make me feel crazy for just asking questions though. When did it become wrong to ask question of our leaders? Real questions. Questions they may not want to answer, but questions that the people of this country deserve to know the answer to regardless.
A quote that i think is quite fitting for the times we live in - "In times of universal deceit telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act" - George Orwell

yo our shits fucking broke, none of these canidates can make a difference when americans are not happy with oppurtunity and reek of entitlement. Students want loan forgiveness)which would ultimataly be paid by the tax payers), lower blue collar wants to stay at home instead and become wards of the state. The filty rich dont want to give any more to the wards of state.
The more i hear from americans in the news and on the shows I think they want to be socialists

So CBS had an hour long televised debate on foreign policy last night. It's Veterans day weekend and they only gave 90 seconds of speaking time to Ron Paul who is the only veteran on the stage. The other candidates got their time to tell the American people how we need to have more wars, assassinating American citizens is good, torture and secret prisons are good, and nation building and policing the world is a great thing. War propaganda at its finest. Even though there is an obvious media bias against Ron Paul his message of peace still seems to trump the status-quo message of endless war mongering. Ron Paul gets more than double the campaign donations from active duty military and veterans than all of the other candidates combined. Maybe we should listen to the people who actually go over there and fight these wars, rather than the bureaucrats who don't. Just a suggestion.

Haven't watched it yet, but did read a pole listing the top republican candidates and Paul was not among the top 4. Somehow Perry and Cain are ahead of him.
So amongst the list of Republican candidates, a virtual democrat leads the bunch, Newt, a guy who doesn't know that China has nukes, and Perry who is a complete idiot, and was once part of Al Gores campaign, ie another democrat.
And yet Paul is nowhere to be found.
I can't figure it out.
