Kind of agree, although Brock will still have a nice size adv, Carwin is the closest thing UFC has. And because Brock's size imo makes him a huge fav against even the very good UFC heavies(ie nog) so to have someone who cuts into that adv even a bit is helpful. Carwin also has pop and what looks like a decent chin. No he's not proven, but Brock's resume is still pretty light as well.

I have Brock winning, but it's interesting.

Basically my point is what has happened lately, Brock has beaten the best. I cannot see anyone calling his resume light.

Sorry Farmer, I thought you meant it in a neg. Not that I mind, I just think the guy is a better fighter (not man) than others want to give him crdit for. On the other hand, he was here over a month ago and some girls I know (not good looking ones either) said he was sweet, polite, and lots of "Yes Mams". So what do I know.

It will still be fun to see two monsters go at it in the cage. I think it'll be a decent fight. Neither guy has great skills standing but both throw heavy hands. Neither guy has great BJJ but both guys have very good to great wrestling and gNp...all that adds up to a quality HW matchup IMO. It'll be very interesting if Carwin can put Brock on his back. Not likely, though.

I hope not, I'm at least hoping it will be competitive.

While I certainly believe Brock is the more talented fighter, how has he won his fights so far? By being the bigger, stronger, and in general, more naturally gifted athlete. He's not going out and showcasing amazing striking technique. While Carwin isn't quite as large as Brock, I do believe he's close to as strong, match that with an at least comparable wrestling skills and he'll be able to hold his own. Carwin definetely isn't going to be taken down and have his arm pinned behind his head ala Mir. IMO this will be Brock's toughest test yet based on the above. And I also won't think Carwin isn't legit if he happens to get beaten down by Brock, it'll just make me think Brock is that much more legit. I mean he is the consensus #2 HW in the World according to our rankings, and received by far the majority of votes in the "Most likely to beat Fedor" thread, so it's not like Carwin would be getting beat by an average fighter.

Mir was a much more dangerous fight for Lesnar because of his sub skills. Carwin doesn't have that. Carwin won't know what hit him when he gets put on his back. Carwin isn't as athletic or as good of a wrestler to prevent that. Standing on the feet I give it a toss up. Carwin has power, but so does Brock. All Carwin throws is that same damn 1-2 combo. That said I really like Carwin and want the best for him, but he is outclassed.

Mir in reality was no threat to Brock, the first fight was a fluke, as demonstrated. Carwin's wrestling skills are strong enough to keep it a close fight, he certainly isn't going to get taken down and be like a turtle, I bet he's able to get back to his feet if taken down.

What makes you think that? Wrestlers are usually uncomfortable on their back and we'll I don't think Carwin has ever been there. You add that in then you throw in a 280 pound gorilla on top and then that equals a world of trouble for Carwin.

Carwin is the strongest fighter Brock has fought, IMO on par with Brock in terms of strength, while he isn't going be pulling any subs off his back by any means, what I do think is he will be use his strength to scrabble back to his feet. If ur under the belief that if Brock get Carwin down he's stuck there, then the same should then be said if Carwin gets Brock down, Carwin isn't 230lb Randy, but I don't believe either fighter will easily hold the other one down like we've seen Brock do to Mir for instance. I have Brock winning, but see it as a closer fight than some of what I've read on here. We have different viewpoints on it, very interested to see how it ends up going down, maybe ur right, may be I am, we shale see.
