Does Showtime pull the plug on MMA?

What are their options?

They could keep SF alive as a feeder, but we just saw what happens when u pull the big names off a card. People do not watch.

I also think the showtime is pissed at Zuffa for stealing their stars and leaving them with a lifeless corpse of a GP.

Bellator is locked up.

Any other upstart would take so much building up, wether it be M-1, pro-elite, titan whomever.

Right now they look to be 0-2, first elite, now SF.

Do they get back into the batters box for a third try at it?

I'd be shocked if they kept Strikeforce, there is no business sense to broadcast a feeder org.

Hope they focus their strength on boxing after the deal expires.

Someone will step up. How long is the M-1 contract with Showtime? ProElite or someone will be there, probably along with M-1.

Think they have 2 more shows before their contract is up.

I expect Showtime to have a handful of MMA cards a year after SF closes shop. A few M-1/co-promoted possibly and a couple of Pro-Elites eventually. Nothing on the scale SF has produced anytime soon though.

Nope. It's overall been a good product for them.

The problem Showtime is going to have, is the same one many have had. They want UFC quality, but they want it on the cheap. Which is fine, if you can get it, but that rarely happens in any business. Remember the XFL? I am waiting for NBC or ABC/ESPN to try and buy some PPVs from the UFC to see what kind of business they get if promoted well. The UFC makes on average 12 Million plus on a PPV, so they can probably get 3 shows for for a bargain at 32-34 Mil.

I would be pretty surprised if Showtime pulled the plug on MMA altogether.
