Back from the grave, ProElite returns to MMA Aug.27

ProElite, the one-time owner of EliteXC and all things Kimbo Slice, will
return to MMA with a debut show on Aug. 27 at the Blaisdell Arena in
Waikikii, Oahu, Hawaii. No fighters have been identified as possible
participants, but with former Strikeforce matchmaker Rich Chou and
former ICON owner T.J. Thompson on board, it may not be half bad. Stay
tuned.

Good news, I hope they land a nice TV deal. I'll settle for LIVE shows on HDNet. Maybe FSN can get back into the MMA mix?

Maybe after he fails at boxing. Maybe they can take over women's MMA when Zuffa "doesn't come to terms" with it's female fighters.

Both Kendall Grove and Joe Riggs have reportedly signed contracts with the relaunching ProElite promotion and are being booked to square off at the planned Aug. 27 show in Hawaii.

ProElite makes its return on Aug. 27 in Hawaii with a show headlined by "The Pitbull" Andrei Arlovski. The promotion has also signed mega-prospect amateur wrestling champion Mark Ellis, as well as Reagan Penn, brother of B.J. Penn.

Interesting signings already. I hope they get some kind of TV deal. Come on HDNet.

Yep. It was purchased by Stratus Media Group. The only people mentioned are former Strikeforce matchmaker Rich Chou and former ICON owner T.J. Thompson as executives.
