| Should Strikeforce stay the way it currently is and maintain their fighters or should all the top fighters join the UFC and Strikeforce be used as a feeder league?
I'd like all the top fighters to join the UFC while Strikeforce should be used to build up new stars. For the HW division for example Overeem, Barnett, Silva, Werdum and Kharitinov (I don't think Fedor ever fights in the UFC) should join the UFC while Mitrione, Schaub, Herman, Struve and Nelson should join Strikeforce. That way we get the best of the best fighting in the UFC and Strikeforce building up the next batch of HW's and we get to see fights like Mitrione vs SDR and Nelson vs Cormier.
Your thoughts and ideas? |

| Agree Freak and it could be maintained as both separate and a feeder as well. | |

| Why does it have to be a feeder league? It should stay separate with Strikeforce continuing to have more freedom. Strikeforce and DREAM have a good relationship and usually SF fighters have no problem taking fights outside of Zuffa. That relationship needs to stay, that kind of fighter freedom needs to stay. Woman fighters needs to stay. Fighters who don't get along with Dana(Barnett,Daley) should be allowed to stay. Should be separate and not just a "feeder league". Better for the sport. | |

| I'd rather see it kept seperate, if they took all the stars and replaced them like you suggested their gate draw would be even worse. At least now they have some stars to build a card around and bring people in. Who's going to want to buy a ticket for Herman vs Nelson and Mitrione vs Schaub as main events? They have the challenger series to build up and coming guys and they should stay with that. To make everyone in the organization a lower level fighter would be the death of the company. | |

| How is it better when Zuffa own both anyway? I'd rather see the best fighters in the world fighting each other.
Melendez vs Miller King Mo vs Rampage Overeem vs JDS Barnett vs Brock Ronaldo Souza vs a decent opponent |

The future of SF, fighter options and woman's MMA means more to me then 2-3 superfights.

| I'm a fan and don't find it to be my job to worry about fighter options so that matters very little to me. And women's MMA has no depth and isn't competitive. They can go to some smaller promotion | |

| They should keep following WWE's example and go full on Raw vs Smackdown style. Split their contracts down the middle and have a fighter draft every year. Each month they both have a ppv and a free show and every other month there is a Raw vs Smackdown Strikeforce vs UFC themed ppv. That would be 648 zuffa fights a year, 54 events spanning across multiple networks, just like WWE does, weekly. | |

So our job is to grab the popcorn and the remote? With every sport that I care about, with every team I root for I look at more then just the current team and the next game. Most hardcore fans in sports look at the long term. People talk about improvements in all sports(college football playoff for example). So looking past the initial excitement of superfights, I think the better long term option is SF to stay separate. Fighter options is very important for the sport going forward IMO.

| I grab the popcorn and watch. No one sits around worrying about where my next paycheck is coming from, I don't do the same for others. The UFC is going to keep expanding and putting on more and more shows. If a fighter can't hack it, tough. Football players who aren't good enough to make a team roster in the NFL don't really have bright things happening either. Its there in every sport | |

| I've been a backer of this idea since the beginning, just posted it again last night after SF's Gate was revealed. SF isn't really a money maker, I've always thought they were losing money on events, maybe not all, but enough. The merger can move top talent over while the SF name maybe kept and used to feed themselves talent. Plus with the "feeder" league under Zuffa, fighters would actually have as good a security as they would in random upstarts Orgs, and they'd have insurance...
I'll bump the thread on the Gate if anyone is interested in a quick little read.

| What Bobbitt and LA said. I hate the current WWE style. Raw and Smackdown should be combined as well. |

| It should be for prospect and for women to keep their platform after the current top guys end up in the UFC or elsewhere.
It's silly to pretend they are seperate and act like they would actually be able to negotiate with a fighter the UFC wants like Dana was initially saying. They can't be seperate because they are not.
like say Overeem became a free agent and was actually interested in staying in Strikeforce...like Strikeforce would be allowed to sign the fuckin guy or make a legit offer. It's eitheir UFC or back to Japan.
