| It links to a post, you got to change your name.
But totally with you on the point the UFC would reduce PPVs yet make them stronger, I've been completely on board with that same idea wherever the UFC decided to move next, think I posted an idea like that the other day actually but with CBS/Showtime or NBC/Vs.

| Reduce PPVs, build a loyal fanbase with weekly smaller Bellator-TUF cards, no more than 12 PPVs a year, most of them would have title fights now that we have 7 champs(not counting SF champs in the women's division) | |

| As long as they keep those cute chicks from Attack of the Show and Ninja Warrior, I wouldn't complain. | |

| I hope they still keep some of the great shows already on G4. Gaming and UFC together make for an awesome channel. | |

| Looks like if this happens Bellator could be moved to SPIKE. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/6/9/2215267/ufc-spike-tv-bellator-g4 - Quote :
- Spike executives, meanwhile, are said to be eyeing an alternative for fights: MTV2, another unit of Viacom, recently started showing fights produced by Bellator, a smaller mixed martial arts league, and those fights could be moved over to Spike.

| Starting to have mixed feeling on this happening, it could be excellent but will viewership stay strong on a station not on regular cable?
I think this works best if Comcast, who owns G4, then put big UFC events on NBC.

| Big picture this is great. Get G4 in as many homes as possible, run more smaller shows and use this network to pimp PPV non stop. PPVs get bigger and better and the network shows all kinds of old classic stuff in addition to more free fights more often. | |

| It can work, but how many people get G4? I think they lose viewers at first, G4 is only on premium cable. | |

| Right now Spike is 99 million. G4 is in something like 63. They were recently kicked off direct TV. However, CBS/Comcast wants to revamp the channel so they will give a rebranded channel a good push. They would still own 40% | |

| NBC/Comcast..... and I know, mentioned that, think they should use G4, but work with NBC for huge shows, seems too perfect.
Just saying I worry about viewers, losing 30mill+ is a lot.

| I am thinking a network deal would be a part of this plan now. It would be in NBC's interest promote the UFC and use it to help launch their NBCSports brand while also addressing the struggling G4 network in one fell swoop. This looks also like the UFC's Ultimate Exit Strategy off PPV. | |

| That is how I see it, maybe not totally ditching PPV, but get G4(UFC Network) then with the Comcast relationship put the biggest shows on NBC, I thought this originally back for Vs./NBC but this works better with the UFC's own network. If I was the UFC the G4 deal would have NBC shows written in. | |

| This looks like a long term insurance policy against the PPV industry failing them or proving unreliable. It could be possible to market and disperse the product similar to other traditional sports. | |

| PPV has been down lately, but that has as much to do with overkill, weaker main events, injuries as anything else. A couple big shows a year on PPV with G4, with NBC, could still work very well. I've been all about the Comcast relationship and NBC for a while, still think they could do a couple huge shows, but I'm all for free MMA. | |

| The UFC is more protected if they switch off PPV to a model like other sports where more steady advertising dollars pay the bills. They are more protected against ratings poor performances than they are with PPV. Ratings have to be down for a while to hurt you. A bad PPV cycle means less revenue immediately. | |

| If people tune in, if it works out like we think it could. PPV are a money machine when they are working, but some events have been down lately for various reasons they UFC could adjust if they did less more stacked PPVs with what they could do on G4/NBC. Imagine the marketing they could get on NBC? I bet a PPV would kill sprinkled in here and there between NBC and G4 events. But I'm cool without PPV, still think the UFC could kill with some if they played it right. | |

| If only Olivia Munn was still at G4, just imagine her at ringside in a skimpy bikini. |
