How Do You Rank Diego Corrales?

In all honesty, he should be ranked pretty high IMO, kind of a slept on fighter that really put it together near the end of his career. But yes he had faded by the time of his death.

As hard as I try to remember him as the warrior he was that fought his heart out, I always remember the night Floyd beat the living shit out of him. What was it 7 knockdowns? I actually remember thinking that fight was like 50-50 and he just got destroyed. I know its not fair to judge his career on 1 fight but I cant help it. RIP Chico!!!!

That fight was a total 50-50 going in, Chico had won every single fight by knockout. Does nothing to deteriate CHico jsut adds to Mayweathers greatness. Because Chico was the undisputed lightweight champ of the world at one time.

Ya it was 7 knockdowns props to Diego's step dad for stopping that fight, he really cared about his son.

He also had some great fights with Casmayor. I loved watching Diego fight. he always left his heart and soul in the ring.

It was 5 knockdowns in the Mayweather fight by the way. Has to be weird having the biggest fight of your career while knowing your headed to prison. Can't imagine what was going through his mind

He got dropped 3 times in one of the middle rounds and then twice the round they threw in the towel

Yep. Remember seeing him on Friday Night Fights when he came back and wondering if he would have a run left in him and if the drive was still there. Who knew he would've had so many classics left at that point

ya, he came back from his first run and won the undisputed lightewight title, waged wars with Castillo, Cassamayor and Freitas. Man those 4 guys had a great round robin in 06 and 07
