I agree with your overall assessment, however, Chael showed the MMA world the road map to beating Silva, though I am sure he has worked on it ever since and is probably much more dangerous now.

Chael aknowledged that he lost. He said he kept fighting after the stoppage because he was basically out of it. He didn't recall what was going on. He knew Anderson got him. Chael understands the value of selling a fight, and he more than backs up his words in the cage. Choose to get flustered by his press releases if you want, or just laugh at it and enjoy the entertainment of it all.

I dont think people realize that steroids do not turn you into superman. Steroids just make healing go faster. Yes they will make you stronger, permanent gains only come after using them for quite a while, without stopping. So, any strength gained, is only temporary after the cycle ends. And Chael tested clean for his fights prior to the Anderson fight, correct? Which means he couldnt have been using them for too long. Also, different steroids do different things. Not all of them make you a big strong fast monster. People buy into what the government and media say about steroids, and they are dead wrong. And I know this, being that I have been around steroids most of my life.

Come on man, we've all watched enough sports to know that steroids helps these guys perform at a MUCH higher level. The results are very obvious.

We've also watched enough fights to know that those made zero difference in that fight. Chael didn't even break a sweat on any of those takedowns, they were easy as hell and it wasn't hard to predict that Anderson wasn't getting back to his feet until the round was over if Sonnen put him down

Im not saying it does not enhance performance at all. I am just saying Chael Sonnen doing whatever kind of PEDs he did, between fights, for 6 months, is not the reason he beat the fuck out of Anderson for 5 rounds. That is just a shitty excuse Anderson nut huggers are going to use to try to justify the ass beating he took. Even when it comes to other sports and steroids. It takes a while to build that stuff up in your system enough to truely make a difference. The steroid era in baseball didnt just start in 2000. It started early in those guys careers, but really showed in 2000's.

I remember a certain Takase taking Anderson down immediatly, controlling him for about five minutes from the top before applying a slick triangle on him. That was probably the only time Anderson got completely owned. Chael would be it, but he lost.

Ryo was no losing that fight. He was winning the entire time. Biggest misconception in MMA.

I'd still say Chael because he dominated the Anderson we know now, the possible P4P King and who we've come to acknowledge as one of the best fighters ever, even though he eventually lost. No one thinks Roy or Takase could step in and repeat what they did with the Anderson of now, but Sonnen could possibly do the same thing again, minus geting subbed.

guess Im wrong but I thought Anderson was landing pretty effectively before the Chonan miracle
