- @sonnench It's not "catch weight" it's a "grudge weight." I'll fight him at a GRUDGE WEIGHT OF 200lbs. I don't care about him enough to cut to 185.
That's a vague tweet but it's all over the forums. I suppose it makes sense because they do sort of have a beef the UFC can market.

| Awful fight.
Sonnen would wreck Wandi at MW but at 200lb he'll decimate him. |

Both are coming off a loss and fight in the same class. I could see the weight changing to Super Ace Weight. |

| I agree, I could see Wand dropping him like almost did Rich. It might not be the most probable outcome, but certainly wouldn't be a surprise. It's what he is best at. | |

| Chael might grind out a W, but decimate? When does Chael decimate opponents?
Because he is not a guy who will test Wandi's chin, I actually see it as a good opponent for the old man.

Because he is not a guy who will test Wandi's chin, I actually see it as a good opponent for the old man. Wand would be stuck on his back unable to get up and pounded for 3-5 rounds or until the ref pulled Chael off. Wand only has a shot at the start of rounds or if the ref stands it back up.

Remember Sonnen has been subbed numerous times, and snuck out of a couple as well. So I'm thinking Wand has more of a shot then just at the start of a round. This would actually give Wand an op to use that black belt I've heard so much about. Either way, I don't see Chael "decimating" Wand. Chael just doesn't decimate guys.

Either way, I don't see Chael "decimating" Wand. Chael just doesn't decimate guys. Black belt doesn't always automatically mean great or even good submissions. Some guys just aren't submission wizards no matter how long they've trained jiu jitsu or what color belt they have. We've never really seen Wanderlei display any kind of significant submission skill. He only has one finish via submission hold and that was a rear naked choke.

This is the 2012 Wandi we're talking about here, the one who was almost knocked out by a spinning back fist. Chael's boxing is pretty solid, if he can buzz Andy with his striking then Wandi's ancient chin won't hold up much long. |
