| I don't see any wrong here at all. We need to have stronger laws and this is a positive step for our govt to not lay down on this subject. The babies wouldn't be born here if their parents weren't here illegally. | |

Hell yeah if the parents are illegal, that doesn't mean you should take citizenship away from the baby, but why don't the parents just do what they're suppost to do and work towards citizenship, they wouldn't get deported while waiting for their green card. I new a guy from russia lived here 11 years before he got his green card but he was legally here in the process of getting legal. That's what I don't get about the mexican illegals they act like they aren't allowed to get citizenship at all so they got to live here illegally when that is a bunch of BS all they need to do is go through the regular channels like every other immigrant that has ever came here.

| So deport the illegal parents and the newborn stays here. OK, who takes care of the newborn?
The reason they are having the babies is because they know they won't get deported due to the hardship of being split apart.

No I mean the baby should have to go back with their parent but the baby should still have citizenship. The parents can either get their greencard and come back with the kid or say fuck it stay in mexico and their kid can return as a citizen when the kid is old enough.

I say if an illegal couple gets caught but they have kids give them the decision take your kid back with you untill he/she is old enough to return or put your american kid in a foster home untill your ass atleast starts the process of becoming legal.

| It's a big can of worms and really needs to go to the top court for a decision based on the 14th amendment.

| The reason they can't work toward becoming legal citizens is because in order to do that you need to prove you entered the country legally in the first place. You need a passport of some kind, birth documents of some kind. Neither of which will be validated when applying for citizenship if your here illegally, if you even have them handy to begin with.
As far as letting the children stay, there is no room for them. The foster care system is overstuffed as it is in most states, we simply don't have the resources to undertake literally hundreds of thousands/millions of children who are born here while their parents are here illegally.

| They should make a special exemption to birthright citizenship for Mexico and other countries where illegal immigration is an issue from. Where that loophole is being exploited. We won't become an evil, Nazi, racist power if we stop giving preggo baby mommas a reason to exploit our public welfare system. | |

Well why would they take the steps to insure they are legal? they can work here get paid more than in mexico without paying one cent of state or income tax. Hell they could even buy a house untill the mortgaget deal with the goverment stopped.
