Brian Stann and Wanderlei Silva have been officially paired up for the UFC 130 pay-per-view event on May 28 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to the promotion's popular "Ultimate Insider" webcast

stann is a game opponent for sure, but i cant go against THE AXE MURDERER

Pumped for any Wandy fight but there are better options unless the UFC considers this a warm up fight which they shouldn't. Your only going to get 3-4 more Wandy fights against top guys Stann isnt one. The problem is he will still take damage and that chin has to fail at some point....right?

Stann has been looking real good though, but Wandys chin has takes SOOOOO much damage that its only a matter of time before he starts getting dropped

I think they loved the idea of Leben vs Wandy and since Stann whooped up on Leben he kind of stole Leben's hype. Akiyama, Leben and Stann all called him out. Looks like Wandy is just stuck with the winner of that mini tourny lol

100% right and mybe im just being a hater a little bit cause as you can see Leben is one of my favorite fighters. I would love to see Nate vs Wandy yes i know Nate is booked but damn that would be fun to watch!

Gotta respect Stann he's got very little talent, got some power, and tons and tons of heart. That said I hope Wandy destroys him

i just think wands body of work puts him in bigger fights.

This is the lowest ranked fighter he has fought since Fujita in 06. But stann could be coming into his own. He jacked Leben up pretty hard.

I wouldn't be shocked if Stann pulled it off but I think Wandy will get it done. Should be entertaining no matter what.

Earlier this week, UFC.com's Ultimate Insider reported that the middleweight clash was signed for Memorial Day weekend. However, a UFC source with knowledge of the situation told MMA Fighting on Friday that the fight was never signed and that Silva has informed the organization that he won't be healthy enough to compete on the card.

As MMA Fighting first reported last month, the organization was hoping to put the fight together for UFC 130.

No opponents have been signed for either Stann or Silva. There is still a chance Stann, the former WEC light heavyweight champion, will compete on the May 28 card against someone else.

Stann (10-3) is coming off a win over Chris Leben in January, while Silva (33-10-1, 1 no contest) hasn't competed since he beat Michael Bisping at UFC 110. He underwent knee surgery in July.

UFC 130, headlined by Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard III, will air live on pay-per-view from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Fight not signed, probably wont even take place @ 130 but rumors are Stann is still on the card
