On top of this bad matchup, Machida might come out more agressive in this fight after the Rampage decision, to go along with the multiple other advantages he holds.

Randy has apparently agreed to the fight but it isn't official yet according to another UFC source

1)I thought Randy retired? Wasn't that the headlines a month ago?

2)Wolf had been saying that the UFC wants to give Randy another title shot. Here's the win that will give it to him.

3)I can't see Randy hurting Machida, or even hitting him in straight standup situation. thus Machida should be willing to get into the pocket. Can Randy pin Machida against the fence like the Vera fight?

James Toney and Coleman are what exactly then? It's more Couture managing his own career better and luck also panning out. I never said the UFC was "protecting" Couture.

The more I think about it the more the blame is on Liddell himself for taking any and all fights that come his way.

Who has been able to control Machida in a greco situation? Nada. His sumo gives him balance and ability to avoid Couture's biggest strength. This will be a slaughter. Machida will have no fear of his speed or power. This is a set up fight for Machida. Randy say no dawg. If you want to fight, beat up on Stephan or Vladdy.

the thing is though, Couture said himself that Machida and Shogun are the only fights he'd want to come back to...

I just don't see many ways Randy wins this fight. Machida has a HUGE speed and power advantage in this fight, there should be literally no times he gets stuck in the "Couture Cage Clinch" like so many others have fallen for.

If Machida comes out confident in his striking (like the Rashad fight), then he should finish Randy in the 1st. If he plays it safe, he might not get it going until later in the fight and would settle for a UD. Either way, its a rough night ahead for Captain America.

I honestly think that Machida will win this fight one way or the other. That being said, every time I go against Randy he figures out a way to win. Let us hope it is a good fight and Randy gets a classy way to go out.
