Oct 10th may be when we see Rogers vs Fedor

Strikeforce's broadcast partner Showtime recently added an Oct. 10 event to its programming guide.

They don't wanna say shit because they know the UFC will counter program them.

Hopefully Strikeforce can get a partner like USA or another cable network similar to Spike where they could counter program UFC events with live MMA programming. Then the UFC will stop doing stupid shit like that.

Oct 10th is when WEC 43: Cerrone vs. Henderson.

Hmmm really? That's actually a good idea to counter program a smaller weaker Zuffa event. Maybe they'll eventually reach a gentlemen's agreement to knock that shit off.

That's actually a pretty smart move by Strikeforce to do it against a WEC event. WEC just lost DirecTV and even the biggest Zuffa nuthugger/anything non Zuffa related hater would watch the Fedor-Rogers card over a Cerrone-Henderson card. If UFC still counters with a replay on Spike, the WEC show is toast.

We'll see how this plays out. Maybe they'll postpone WEC yet again and do a replay?

Smart move to keep the event hushed then scheduled on the night of the least anticipated WEC event in at least the last year thats already been rescheduled once and dropped off direct tv. They can seriously hurt this show.

Strikeforce isn't to be fucked with. I think they'll do well.

Of course this could be trouble for the WEC, but that might actually make the UFC stronger. I think they'd pick up the lighter weight classes within the UFC before just letting the WEC go. If that happened, the UFC could easily put on more shows and counterprogramming with strikeforce would be even easier. Strikeforce probably shouldn't be trying to mess around with Zuffa, because they're bound to get burned somehow.

There has already been tons of rumors and talk of UFC absorbing WEC.

I would think the reduced time to promote the fight would hurt more then the possible counter programming issue would.

Counter programming would definitely hurt more.

I would think any real MMA fan, who has showtime, would not think twice about watching a live strikeforce event over a UFC replay.

So if it is the casual viewer that they are trying to gain, is the small promotion window the way to go? Seems like they are thinking small despite having the big fish in Fedor.

Going up against the WEC is a very smart move in order to avoid the counter promo.

But since when does WEC do Sat nights?
