| I was on laying on my couch, my girlfriend was asleep her head on my stomach, suffice it to say I woke her the fuck up.
Would love to see a series of video clips containing the reaction to that kick.

| Pettis did some entertaining shit, no doubt...that said, he still stands next to no chance against Edgar or Maynard and does not deserve a title shot. | |

next to no shot? Why not? I know Edgar and Maynard have good/great resumes, but when I actually watch them fight, never do I think, man these guys are unbeatable. Pettis showed some real talent last night. He might be a bit green, but he showed poise to go along with his electric ability.

| when did i say they were unbeatable? I'm just not on the "he deserves to leapfrog more proven fighters" bandwagon because he had a flashy performance against a guy nobody truly thought could be a contender in the UFC in the first place, and if they did they were trippin.
He does some flying kick and it's the Hazelett effect times 20..now he's a legit contender to the UFC champ. He had a good performance against a good fighter. They are a lot better where he's going, and he's leapfrogging a lot of guys a lot better than Ben Henderson to fight guys much much much better than Ben Henderson. I know people want to see some flash fighter get in over the not too exciting Edgar to the flat out boring Gray Maynard but Pettis would have to show a lot more than he showed against Henderson. Can he? maybe...but there is nothing to refer to when discussing giving him a shot at the tile other than UFC wanting to pretend that a post-merge WEC title means anything to hype a title match in a division with no draws sans BJ Penn.

| It's less so his performance against Bendo, and more so the lack of standout condenders and appeal of the merger which makes giving Pettis a Title shot that that big of a deal. Sure resume-wise there are more deserving LWs in the UFC quite possibly, but Pettis over Sot or Miller isn't going to hurt anuthing. And watching Pettis fight, whether Thursday night or before so, you could tell he had a ton of potential and was/is going to be a very good LW for a while. This isn't a reaction similar to Haz, Pettis is such a more complete fighter, he's a legit contender to the UFC Champ, simply because he's a legit LW; and with him being the last WEC LW Champ, the merger adds appeal for the matchup. | |

Well u did say Pettis has next to no shot, which imo is not accurate. Sure either guy would probably wrestle him up, but next to no shot? I don't see that. Nor do I see all these worthy contendors that Pettis is jumping. Im not sold that Pettis, or Bendo can't hang with George, Miller or Sherk, none of whom have a resume that screams title contendor. And Pettis was impressive for the 23+ minutes before the kick. His striking was both controlled and dynamic, his grappling was strong, his stamina was excellent. Im more psyched about his title match then I am about the Edgar Maynard match.

Im more psyched about his title match then I am about the Edgar Maynard match. Being more stoked for most matches over Edgar-Maynard is not hard for one to do. I just think i'll be posting more colbert "i called it" gifs after his title shot. He should have to fight somebody like Sot, Miller, Sherk, Dunham, etc and prove that he's more worthy than them. When i look at their resumes is does not scream big time contender but it screams better resume than Pettis, am i wrong? No, i'm not.

| He may not be the most deserving but they have to have him fight the winner just to have 1 champion. U dont need no WWE shit where 2 or 3 guys have the same title lol. | |
