I already no what the replys are going to be. No good music has been made since 1990's. I know you guys are so right. Anyway here is my list.
1. Kanye West- My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The only radio friendly artist on my list happens to be number 1. Anyone who has not listened to this album does not no what they are missing. This album is the Kid A of hip hop. There truly is hope for mainstream music.
2. Local Natives- Gorilla Manor A personal favorite of mine that has not received the recognition it deserves.
3. Deerhunter- Halcyon Digest One of the best bands going right now makes their third straight great album.
4. LCD Soundsystem- This is Happening James Murphy manages to live up to expectations from sound of silver and deliver another aoty candidate.
5. Arcade Fire- The Suburbs Not as good as their debut the funeral but still a fantastic album
6. Big Boi- Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty The highly anticipated debut of Big Boi delivers.
7. The National- High Violet Another great album from the Ohio natives
8. Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti-Before Today This album feature maybe the song of the year imo.
9. Beach House- Teen Dream Awesome album to start the year
10. Sufjan Stevens- Age of Adz To early to tell just how good this album is but first impression is top ten material

Do an albums of 1970 instead.
hmmm I maybe I will. You still won't like that list because you don't seem like a big bowie or television fan which are my twp favorite artists of the 70's.

Probably the worst year of music since I've been alive. I honestly don't think I could even come up with a top 10

your a metal fan though so you are looking for different things then me. It's been a great year for indie rock but an awful year for metal from what I hear.

Yep. The odd-numbered years have been much better for metal in recent years. I'm even wearing thin on that though. The list of bands that I would be there to pick up a new album the first day it came out has dwindled down to just a few. I've had old shit in my player nonstop for months now
