Nam Phan vs. Leonard Garcia at TUF 11 finale

Very good, I think it is obvious Nam should be at FW. He is a game fighter, should be entertaining.

Nam isn't durable enough to withstand LG for three rounds. However, Garcia is entirely too hittable-on-purpose-brawler to bet on winning using an allusion to a violent sexual assault though, probably. He could get himself knocked out tryin to get his pants off pretty easily himself. Still, none of these guys had an offense as potent as Leonard Garcia's, and not by a long shot. Phan's getting knocked out.

Either way the fight should be awesome. U guys think this is a tough fight for a first fight after the show? I dont remember guys coming off the show fighting this level of fighter so quick.

Nam will have to finish Leonard to win. Even if he clearly beats him and it goes to a decision the judges will score in in favor of Garcia like all the other decisions he didn't deserve....

If Nam can keep going to the body the way he did on the show he will be very good for a long time in my opinion.

Garcia's stock has really taken a dive though with that last loss. And on top of that, the Zombie fight proved he could stand toe to toe in a sloppy brawl, but it kind of hurts his reputation too because in part some people feel he actually lost that fight while looking terminally reckless. There are also not nearly as many FW's on the roster as their are in other weight classes.

Never watched TUF this season but you would not need to have watched TUF to have seen Nam Phan fight. He's fairly seasoned.

Leonard will win or lose a controversial split decision as usual.

For the Hominick fight to even be a split decision is a crime. Leonard was counter punched and repeatedly hit in the face for 3 rounds. Just because he throws a million hay makers and lands one that shouldn't gives you any rounds.....

Garcia is a wide open brawler who may throw the widest hooks in mma. Oh ya hes also a head hunter.

Nams a well rounded guy, with straight punches and kicks, a good body game, and good on good enough on the ground. I think Nam will beat Garcia.

Wolf would be jocking Nam if he hadn't been on TUF. Nam will win this fight because of what Bird said.

No, my opinion of Nam was formed well before he got to TUF. I don't think he is a bad fighter or hate him or anything. I just don't think he's good enough or tough enough to survive Garcia. Garcia is going to walk him down and knock him out.

i agree with wolf as far as the nam was formed well before tuf comment. its true, nam has been on the big stage before and come up short. dont know if garcia will win however with nam coming so close to winnin tuf this season , it just goes to show what a weak season it really was. i still have hope for brookins though. i say if he finishes johnson in the first 2 he should have a bright future to progress ahead of him.

ehh, Nam hit a rough patch in 09 but he is doing ok this year and Leonard Garcia isnt a world beater he is a questionable 4-3-1 since joining WEC. Nam can beat this guy I dont think Leonard is some huge test for Nam

Nam wins this with a TKO that starts with a rib-roaster from hell.

I gotta say I think Nam is too technically sound to lose this fight unless Garcia can catch him with a haymaker or two. That said I think this one goes to decision. Garcia is still tough as nails and can take a lot of damage without really slowing down too much. The only problem I see for Garcia other than being technically inferior is that he tends to gas in the third round at times. If that happens I can see Nam jumping all over him and possibly finishing him late in the third.

Looks like Wolf is the lone wolf in thinking "LG by rape".

i could see Garcia winning this but in the long run Nam is gonna end up being a much better fighter down the road.
