Urijah Faber is a proven draw. No doubt about it.

Bolstered by the World Extreme Cagefighting star's main event with Takeya Mizugaki, the Nov. 11 broadcast of WEC 52 scored an impressive 0.57 household rating and an average audience of 570,000 viewers on Versus, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) confirmed with an industry source.

It's the second largest WEC audience of 2010 and the biggest since "WEC 46: Varner vs. Henderson" in January – an event Faber co-headlined.

I think it had more to do with the UFC fans watching after the announcement. No doubt though that Faber is the biggest WEC star.

Not too bad for a non title fight WEC card though. Gotta give Faber most of that credit.

You don't think the established pattern of Faber shows doing more viewers is indicates it's Faber who is responsible for these ratings? You think it's buzz about the UFC absorbing the divisions? So Faber doing more viewers in the past is a coincidence then, and unrelated to the number of viewers now?

I remember that 1 thread about it. I thought it was pretty split, but I could be misremembering.

Faber would sell a PPV, but if you're building a card and he's the main draw, then it won't crack 500k unless the rest of the card is pretty sick, we're talking free TV vs. $45. WEC 48 did between 150-200k...

That was without the UFC brand though when no one knew who he was. If promoted properly before hand, after that AvF card, for a real UFC title, I don't think 500k is out of reach at all.

Let me clarify, he didn't have as high a profile with casuals. After that card though, and with proper spike tv promotion, things would be a lot different for the next card.
