Hughes on fight with BJ:

Can't say I disagree with his thoughts on the fight



I'm hoping BJ comes in focused and well prepared, really he just needs to be aware of the takedown here, he should destroy Hughes standing at this point. What I'm expecting is BJ to outstrike Hughes and win a Split, but I can totally see Hughes getting the takedown and winning a Split himself.

BJ Penn was supposed to be in his prime. Hughes was supposed to be declining. This fight might have been seen as a squash match a year ago. But then their last two fights happened. Now it's a really intriguing fight. Great way to close out this rivalry.

I've hated Hughes his whole career but i've softened on him the past year. I hope he wins then beats Fitch next.

Is that a cut under his right eye ?

Hopefully BJ has gotten back to training as hard as he did for the fights vs Florian and Deigo. If he comes out cut up like he was for those fights I'll feel pretty good about the fight.

Hughes really sounds like he respects BJ and he is right they really do know each other and its going to come down to who executes there gameplan best in my opinion.

Hughes was all excuses about Penn on the top 100 fight interview regarding their first fight last year. He seemed much more respectful here. He doesn't want to motivate BJ I think.

Hughes has that Ortiz/wolfgang/Lesnar "just rubs you the wrong way" thing that can motivate even lazy people.

Sure, they could sell it I suppose. I'd be all for it if GSP left for MW. The winner of this fight facing Jake Shields or some shit.

Winner should fight Jon Fitch.

BJ vs Fitch could be pretty good.
