| I've thought this for a while and this season has confirmed it. It is a goddamn mockery of college football to allow any shit team from this conference to go to a BCS bowl. Not one ranked team and fucking Syracuse is the best team in the division???? Bullshit. | |

| I agree with you this year. I wouldn't say that about the BE every year though. I wish there was a rule that if a BCS conference has a down year another conference should be given that spot. | |

| I agree with that, however, the BE is rarely a contender. I will say the way they can make that happen is to do a fucking playoff but we all know how that goes. | |

This is the only year the BE hasn't been one of the top conferences in Football. I don't care if five BE teams were in the top 20 anyways. A playoff is needed for college football no matter which conference is up or down. There is always gonna be a team like Boise State, BYU, TCU, Utah, etc that gets screwed out a national championship game.

When was the last time they were even competetive with the big 3?

No other conference has deserved a BCS bid over the Big East when it comes to the other conferences. 2006 was the only year the BE was a top two conference.

| Ok, it sounded different but that's why I hate that there is AQ's to begin with. If you stay with the Bowl system then just take the top 10 teams. | |

| One year WVU was a legit contender but most years I have to agree. | |

| Honestly if the ACC doesn't get their shit together, they are only a year or 2 away from being in the same boat. | |

| West Virginia and Pitt are usually good almost every year. South Florida is an underrated team that has had to play a very tough schedule. Cincy is an ok team that has had one of the toughest schedules in the country..and underachieved..they almost beat the OU Sooners dont forget. Louisville used to be a top 10 team every year back in the Petrino days...and looks like they will be building into a better team a couple years down the line. I do agree that this is a down year, but to say they have no business being an AQ conference is dumb. One bad year doesnt equal exhile IMO. | |

Look at your reasons, "good almost every year", "underacheived" "used to be", etc... Once in a while there is a competitive team and this is not one bad year. They have never had a representative in the title game and probably never will unless there is a playoff and someone goes on a tear. Before the conference was broken up there was some relevance, hence the history talk, now there is not.

| Yes, but you cant write off a conference due to one bad year. Especially considering how they're usually among the best records in bowl games as a conference. | |

| I just personally don't think it's been only one bad year and IMO they can't compete top to bottom with any other AQ conference except the ACC and once in a while possibly the Pac 10 | |

The BE has been better then the ACC if you compare the past 5 seasons.
