Poor Manny Steward got clipped by Wladimir Klitschko's right hand

It would be advisable for Manny to have a mouthpiece and headgear. When Wlad clips you with the right hand it isn't going to be a pleasant experience.


That is the frustrating thing about Wlad. The jab sets up the right hand, but he doesn't let the right hand go enough. Of course it is easier to jab an opponent who is running for his life, than it is to land a right hand.

Geeze Manny is a specimen for being 65 or whatever he is.

Manny has to exercise outside of his training work. He is in better shape than 90% of Americans 20 years younger than him.

Let me play Devil's Advocate for a second. By what criteria does he not let it go enough? I mean in his last ten fights he is 10-0 with 8 KO's and that list includes 8 ranked guys.

He literally jabs every opponent to death until they pretty much quit then he opens up alittle. he could definitely be more of a fan favorite if he opened up alittle more but i do understand if it isnt broke why fix it?

No thats not my arguement LOL.

I think there are various reasons for Wlad not letting the right hand go more:
1-The jab is pulverizing the opponent. It is easy to just keep jabbing the other guy to death
2-He is still afraid of gassing out (even though that happened 5 years ago)
3-His opponents run. It is easier to jab a guy who is running, than it is to land a right hand against him
4-(Similar to 3); if you watch Wlad's feet, he moves okay for a big boy, but he doesn't seem able to really throw the right hand when he isn't set. He can jab when he isn't fully set, but he can't throw the right hand very well unless he has his opponent stationary.
5-He is safety first

Is that a good answer for Wlad not throwing the right hand enough?
