Maynard vs Edgar.

Does Edgar still get dominated in the wrestling in light of Edgar's takedown and scramble ability against BJ Penn?

even with how much I like Edgar, I do not see him winning this fight.

He's gonna get mauled on the ground by a lay-n-pray gameplan from Maynard.

Maynard is patient. He'll wait for his spot to take it to the ground and bore the shit out of us. I'm pretty certain he's going to take the belt...this time i want Edgar to prove me wrong though.

Maynard and then the UFC has an unmarketable bore on their hands. If BJ is done trying to train hard and be relevant than the UFC is left with a lot of LW's who are matchup problems for each other. I think the title would change hands very often

Maynard has been in interesting fights before guys. Don't count him out yet. Edgar I am sure can keep the battle more interesting than Florian did.

Edgar's movement is soooo much better than it was in his last fight. His scrambling ability looks much improved as well. I'm taking Edgar this time. Of course I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Maynard was able to control him, but I really think that with how quick Edgar has become, coupled with Maynard's willingness to stand in the pocket, Frankie gets his second title defense.

I think Maynard is just a bad matchup for Frankie. Sure Frankie will have the speed advantage but Gray is just a bigger, stronger, better wrestler. He will get a hold of Frankie and make every round ugly. I'm going to say Gray wins a decision 4 rounds to 1.

I give edgar a good chance this time around. but wouldnt be surprised by a snooze fest.

Given what has happened, I wonder if Maynard was more ready for BJ than he previously thought when he said he was not ready.

I think it will be a good match-up, but I think Gray saps him with the grappling.

Yeah but the thing is you would expect Gray to catch him a few times in that 5 round fight and gets his Lay N Pray on. Can Edgar dance his way to more rounds then Gray can lay his way? I think not, 1 TD seems to give you more points then 4min of sticking and moving.

Yeah this could have very controversial decision written all over it. Definitely a possibility Edgar has effective striking for a large portion of the round and then Maynard gets a takedown but doesn't really do much with it.

We can't act as if Gray hasn't been improving at the same clip as Frankie since their fight. Gray dominated Frankie.

I forsee lots of takedowns by Gray. Frankie will keep getting up but Gray will keep putting him down. Gray UD

I wonder what the odds are of this fight NOT going the distance?

He had a lot on his mind other then Maynard going into that first fight.

I think he'll be able to stay off his back enough(and I don't rule out Edgar pulling off a takedown or two) to eek out a decision.

But no matter who wins, I don't see this being riveting. They will have to couple this with another big fight if they hope to get big #'s.
