Showtime Bantamweight Tourney still happening?

Ive read Hasegawa doesnt want in bc he wants a Montiel rematch (not sure how that make sense)
And Donaire just wants to fight on under card of a PacMan fight...

It was proposed to include Donaire and Montiel, in a super 6 style format.

Bullshit Bob Arum wasn't going to dare put his guys in there as he can make so much money by always keeping things in house.

So Arum said it didn't make sense unless a tournament was single elimination.

I'm sure they'll thus come up with 2 more names, it will be a proposed 8 man tourney, single elimination, to try to get Bullshit Bob to put Donaire and Montiel in there.

Bullshit Bob will then come up with an excuse and neither fighter will be a part of it.

As long as the best in the division fight each other I don't care how it gets done. If we get 4 in the tournament and four who just face each other on their own, that works for me.

You can't prove who the best is in the division with single elimination. I still love it for excitement. The Super 6 is better for distinguishing the best.

The Best method of determining 'The Man' (assuming all the best fighters are involved cough,*Bute*, cough) is round robin. Otherwise it becomes luck of the draw for style match ups.

In the latest Ring magazine they made a great point about fighters having the chance to rebound from a loss, if Ward vs Kessler was a normal title fight do you really think Kessler would be back on an American network months later ??

^ ^ ^I'll have to read that, because I agree. Ward has the style and skill to frustrate Kessler, yet Kessler could still win the tournament.

Round robin forces each fighter to confront hhis style nightmare, and gives each fighter the opportunity to rebound from a loss.

I favor Ward in the super 6 because of what he has displayed thus far: Ring IQ and the ability to fight differently against different opponents.

Against Kessler he figured out pretty quick that Kessler can't get off unless he gets his feet set. So he used his better footspeed and handspeed on the outside to move, hit, and not be hit. He also didn't linger in middle distance where Kessler would be at his best. He was all the way out or all the way in.

Against Green he decided to just maul the guy. And with Green on the ropes he did some saavy stuff. He used his arm and body to pin one of Green's arms against his body so that Green only had one free arm in close.
