Would anyone be interested in seeing a rubber match between Serra and GSP?

In light of the Smith camp admitting they're basically already planning a rubbermatch, what about this fight? Somewhat of a similar situation.

Like others said, If Serra put together a few good wins i would be for seeing him fight GSP. It's not like these other guys have done any better than he did the second time around.

i hate when people say it was a fluke though. Serra has power. He caught GSP. Eveyone get's caught at some point, but you have to give credit where it is deserved.

His drubbing of Trigg really validated him at this point.

Serra should beg for a fight with the winner of Fitch Alves or another high quality contender like Kampmann or Condit.

I think all four of those guys beat Serra easily.

Fitch and Alves would, Serra would have the best shot against the other two, especially the hitman.

I think he'd have a punchers chance because of his power, but I think Serra would settle on standing and getting picked apart by K-Man.

Yeah I really dont care to see Seera fight GSP again but I wouldnt mind him fighting the Fitch-Alves loser.

I don't want to really see Fitch LnP on Serra for 3 rounds. I'd rather see him try to take Kampmann's head off with an overhand right

I want to see GSP fighting anybody who earns a shot, even if he's already destroyed them and shown he's the better fighter. Give me the greatest fighter in the world against top 10 opponents in his weightclass, and I'll be happy no matter what the circumstance. If Serra wins a couple more, let's see the rubber match.

Seriously, though, if he earns a title shot then sure. He's not close to a title shot, though, he lost recently to Hughes (even though he should've won) and taking out Frank Trigg means next to nothing at this point.

In UFC terms it does. Trigg was a two time title contender and is a big name in the division. If beating Liddell gave everyone a title shot for two years, then fighting close or beating Hughes is still worth a lot for this division.

Serra is close imo. Another KO over a top tennish opponent and he could potentially earn a rubber match. Especially since the division is utterly void of contenders right now.

No rebound match that is of interest has been mentioned on this page. Serra needs to just fight some middle of the road guys and see where he stands in the sport. He has fought so little lately and with the exception of the fight against a very former, former champ Frank Trigg, he hasn't exactly looked real good. He got lucky 3 years ago, that is 36 months kiddies and lady luck hit him again when he was assigned to beat up Frank Trigg and let him know it was time for retirement.
