imo Smith got beat the first time to an out of shape and cocky Le. He shouldn't get a 3rd fight after Le beats his ass.

I vote no on rubber match, i was actually against them having this upcoming rematch. I just don't see the point in it. It was a tough loss for Le but i don't think that many people failed to notice that Le was the superior fighter and that Smith was completely out classed untill he cashed in on the punchers chance. I would have prefered if they both moved on to different opponents afterwards.

Like, i would have much rather seen Cung Le vs. Melvin Manhoef on this card...and it made sense. Both coming off KO losses where they were absolutely schooling their opponents.

Cung Le don't want none of Manhoef.

Very possible LA, but Manhoef's once granite chin has taken a lot of abuse and is much more vulnerable to someone with Cung's less that legendary power. Either fighter could KO the other. Manhoef getting too sloppy could result in a spinning kick or punch from an angle he never saw coming and Herb Dean pulling Le off him a few seconds later.


That said, still don't think Le wants none.

Melvin needs to fight someone. That guy is so dangerous I'm always a little surprised when he loses even if he should.

He's not going to be in the MW tourny because he is already a LHW tourny participant for Dream.

I don't even want to see the rematch let alone a rubber match.

Le vs Manhoef would have made this card soooooo much better. Melvin has the power, but Cung has more speed and way better stand up imo. Melvin wouldn't land shots like he did against Lawler either. Three leg kicks in and Le would toss him on his ass. Homer pick=Le by KO in the first!

Le is way too old, and unaccomplished to be setting up rubber matches with the Scott Smith's of the world. Especially in consecutive fashion.

And wouldn't a rubbermatch interfere with the tourney, which we all assume will feature the winner of the rematch?

I would take Melvin over Smith or LE. He is faster, stronger, and his greatest strength is his aggressive attack(also biggest weakness). I don't think Le or Smith wouldn't be able to sub him (sadly, Mel isn't that great of a sub defender) and would be backed up and battered by his offense.

Le is used to fighting Melvin's. He was a world champion kickboxer with Machida like elusiveness. Melvin may be the Shogun though.
