Ben Askren Says GSP Does Not Impress Him

Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren has been the subject of much fan disapproval for his style of fighting, but the former University of Missouri wrestling standout is 11-0 in his career.
So, how does Askren believe he would fair with current UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre? Pretty good after seeing GSP defeat Nick Diaz Saturday night.

"After tonight I am 100% sure I could beat GSP," Askren posted on Twitter. "GSP is no longer an aggressive striker. He will not out wrestle or grapple me. He gets tired. Simple enough."

St-Pierre did appear to wear down in the third round against Diaz, but he was able to continue to use his wrestling and jab to keep the challenger at bay.

Askren recently defeated Karl Amoussou via TKO at Bellator 86 last January. The doctor's stoppage ended a string of six consecutive decision victories.

He would be an aggressive striker against Ben. Ben needs to beat somebody of any importance before he can talk.

Yeah I am sure GSP is quaking in his boots about Ben's deadly striking.

To be fair Ben landed some supremely heavy shots in his last fight.
