UFC 147 Seen By 20 Million Brazilians Empty

While the UFC has made no secret that they expect last Saturday's UFC 147 to be possibly the worst-performing UFC pay-per-view of the past 5+ years, the early TV ratings from Brazil indicate the event was a huge hit in the country that hosted it.

We already knew (via MMA Junkie) that attendance was the best-yet for a UFC in Brazil at 16,643 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Now thanks to a tweet from Tatame.com editor Eduardo Ferreira that the early reports have total viewership in Brazil at a a very strong 20 million.

This is down slightly from reports for viewership numbers for UFC 134 (30 million) and UFC 142 (23 million) which also were held in Brazil.

Not bad for a show they were offering fans full ticket refunds for after the main event went from Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen to Vitor Belfort vs. Wanderlei Silva and finally Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva.

Dana had twenty million people in Brazil watch his last card. How many americans watched Dana's show if one hundred brazilians are equal to one american?

20,000,000/100= 200,000 americans

The equivelent of 200,000 americans watched Dana's show in Brazil...and they didnt pay and their auidence has no money to throw at the UFC. 200,000 most likely represents the number of actual americans who purchased the card.

In conclusion

200,000 people watched for free in Brazil. 200,000 people purchased the card in america

http://mmajunkie.com/news/29394/ufc-147-ratings-early-reports-peg-fxs-prelims-broadcast-at-969000-viewers.mma
This past weekend's "UFC 147 Prelims" special on FX averaged 969,000 viewers according to early ratings reports, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with multiple industry sources.

That's down from the 1.3 million viewers who tuned in for May's "UFC 146 Prelims" special.

The two-hour UFC 147 broadcast featured four fights and preceded the night's pay-per-view main card, which aired live from Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Rodrigo Damm defeated fellow "The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil" competitor Anistavio "Gasparzinho" Medeiros via first-round submission in the special's featured broadcast.

Final ratings numbers for the "UFC 147 Prelims" special are expected later this week.

"TUF: Brazil" competitors Francisco "Massaranduba" Drinaldo, Hugo "Wolverine" Viana and Thiago "Bodao" Perpetuo also picked up wins on the "UFC 147 Prelims" special.

In terms of FX viewers, the June 23 broadcast ranked fifth out of the six "UFC Prelims" specials the cable network has aired to date. FX returns with its next "UFC Prelims" specials at next week's UFC 148 event with Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Gleison Tibau, Fabricio Camoes vs. Melvin Guillard, Riki Fukuda vs. Constantinos Philippou and John Alessio vs. Shane Roller ahead of the night's pay-per-view broadcast.

The all-time "UFC Prelims" ratings on FX include:

UFC 145 ratings (prelims): 1.6 million viewers
UFC 144 ratings (prelims): 1.5 million
UFC 143 ratings (prelims): 1.4 million
UFC 146 ratings (prelims): 1.3 million
UFC 147 ratings (prelims): 969,000 million
UFC 142 ratings (prelims): 880,000
