Josh Thomson vs. Gilbert Melendez in works for Evolution

hopefully thomson is finally healthy and this fight actually happens.

the card was already very good, maybe SF is putting all it's chips on the table while the UFC is struggling through all their injuries.

its a good idea if you ask me, keep pushing a strong product for free while Dana charges us for virtually the same thing

2 LWs that are borderline top 10 fighting for free... sounds similar to Frankie Edgar vs. Matt Veach (TUF), Nate Diaz vs. Gray Maynard (FN), or Jamie Varner vs. Benson Henderson (WEC).... but yeah your right lets demonize Dana at every chance. I just don't get all the hate constantly. Be happy we get free shows and good fights no matter who puts it on.

But if you want to compare free cards, note that the Thomson Gilbert fight would not be the main event, it might be the 3rd or even 4th best fight on the card while all the ufc fights you mention are main events. And wake me when the UFC puts on a free card that is half as good as the Fedor card.

All that said lets see if the Melendez fight makes it onto that card.

Why is Strikeforce so interested in getting this rematch for Gil? He got owned by Thomson! Rather save THomson for Aoki when he comes over. Thomson would take him to school.

The card is pretty stacked. The top 5 fights are all worth watching. although they still have TBA'd opponents for Lawler and Mo, WTF.

I don't know about this one for Thompson. Two broken legs and such a long layoff. Melendez is game and should take this.

My thought as well, Gil has looked great in his last 2, and Thomson has actually had 3 breaks in the leg(one was a rebreak). Between all that and the rust and I see this as a tough spot for thomson. Still assuming he can remain healthy it could set up a trilogy.
