UFC 143 estimated 400K buys

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that UFC 143: "Diaz vs. Condit," which took place on Sat., Feb. 4, 2012, from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, did 400,000 pay-per-view buys in preliminary estimates.

At least the buy rates are going back up.

Super Bowl weekend with nothing going up against it. Good numbers though for not having he top level draws.

Nick Diaz was a major reason for this, which is why Dana wants his $ fight with GSP.

Because the card changed every other day due to injury and in the end was under promoted.

Still, Nick Diaz vs BJ Penn should've gotten more than 280,000.

You're right..it definitely should have. Even for a card with BJ Penn in the main event, minus Diaz it should have done better going by Penn's PPV numbers. Like i said, the event going from GSP-Diaz and Penn-Condit to GSP-Condit and Penn-Diaz to just Penn-Diaz with just a couple weeks left killed any buzz for that event. Even this forum was not as pumped for the event as they should have been.

Diaz-Condit got decent promotion over a couple months after GSP pulled out and popped a good buyrate. UFC 137 also upped Diaz stock considerably going into this fight.

Yeah I guess you're right. Also with a title on the line and with Diaz gaining fans with the count down show.
