Jeff Curran signs with SF

Recent WEC competitor and Chicago-area fighter Jeff Curran (29-12-1) has signed with Strikeforce and will appear on the preliminary card of the organization's Nov. 7 event.

Curran announced his participation via Facebook on Tuesday.

The upcoming Strikeforce event takes place just outside Chicago at the Sears Centre. The night's main card airs on CBS.

No opponent has been determined for the fighter.

After losing 4 consecutive fights in the WEC, it was announced on October 20, 2009 that Curran had signed a two fight contract with North American promotion Strikeforce. He maintains that his ultimate goal is to return to the WEC, but is glad to still be able to fight on major cards for the time being. Poor guy. Loses 4 straight to Faber, MTB, Benevidez, and Mizugaki and he gets cut.

I think Curran is a good foundation for a very underdeveloped FW or BW division in Strikeforce. Any up and comer that gets a win over Curran will get my attention. Most of all Curran is likely to put on a good show for the live audience of Fedor-Rogers. Hopefully it's another recorded bout in case a bunch of matches end quick

Justifed or not, he lost 4 straight fights, 2 in each division, yes against tough opponents, but he didn't look good in his last 2. He wins 2 straight in Strikeforce he'll be back in the WEC I'm sure.

He didnt look good in his last 2? Yes on Benevidez but there was a lot of people who thought he got robbed against Mizugaki.
