they would get a hell of a lot more buys + the ratings of the pre-lims would sky rocket because it would always be a good fighter on it

Yes. But I kind of thought they should be showing these fights anyway.

Yes, but really they should be anyways. Free undercard is all about PPV revenue.

Fuck it, every PPV has a "free card" as a preview.

VS is actually losing cards in this merger. They are losing all the WEC cards and the UFC only has a 4 card deal with them for 2011.

They'll get something, Dana wants to keep that relationship going.

Are you sure? I just read that they will air on BOTH VS and SPIKE.

Which I always figured was the hold up. VS would lose the WEc, but Spike did not want to share the UFC.

But I guess they worked it out. 4 UFC cards prob makes more $$$ for Vs then 12 WEC cards. Would not be surprised if that deal gets a reneg.

Nice thing is we should NEVER see another PPV without a title fight... Or two. They can still put on huge PPV's and give us a free Spike or Vs card every month with a roster this full.

It will all work out in the wash kids. I agree that Versus will make more on 4 UFC cards than the 6-10 WEC cards they make. I do think they will start showing free fights on every PPV card, because that is just a promo for the fight about to happen! But the best part of this is we have added 2 championship belts which will really help sell fights and lessen the frequence of cards without a championship title on the line. However, a lot of non-title cards are better than some of the title cards.

The Zuffa isn't gonna cut off that relationship with Vs., they did a lot for the WEC and are Comcast owned, I expect somekind of nice deal to be in place after the 4 event contract is up.

They'll probably renew for another four fight deal. Zuffa is hardly worried about pissing VS. off. The ratings for the WEC mostly sucked and VS. doesn't bring a lot to the table. They are not in as many homes as Spike even. They'll take whatever Zuffa gives them. Anyway Spike's deal allows for only 4 events on other non PPV networks so it's not like the UFC or VS. or anyone has a choice in the matter.
