Martinez weighing in at 176, from his camp in Oxnard, CA and from Wash., DC, Williams weighed 162 pounds. 19 pounds is way too much weight for a fighter like him. He isnt a big guy and hdoesnt have much pop, so the weight advantage wont mean much. This fight is about Heart and Conditioning, without it Martinez doesnt stand much of a shot. I will never question his heart, but Im second guessing him in this bout now because he might not be in the shape he was in before for their first encounter.

I wouldn't be worried if the fight was at middleweight, but that punk Williams has requested a 157lb catch weight.

Seems like Martinez has been living up his Pavlik win, he's been going to alot of fights and events similar to what Tony done after his Cotto victory.

What was his progress during his career up until now? was it any different? Before we make judgments we need to find that information out.

The guy has been a pro for a long time and is just becoming popular now. He's under a microscope so we don't know what he's done his entire career. He may do this for every fight. has boxing scene ever before reported on his camp?

I couldn't tell you softcorebabybluesuit, but weighing 176lb a month away from a 157lb fight isn't a great sign.

Again, has he done this his entire career? Until we get the skinny (get it) on this we can't judge. His trainer has eyes like Cyclops from X men so maybe he burns the fat off?

Looking at the picture it doesn't look like Martinez is that heavy, granted he's wearing a suit but he looks in shape.

Phew, I was getting carried away over nothing.
@danrafaelespn Contract weight for Martinez-Williams: 157. I'm told by Team Martinez that Sergio weighed in after eating and was fully clothed (w/ shoes)

Fully clothed after a meal? That's six or seven pounds right there. Another 3 weeks to go. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Gabriel Sarmiento: “When I first came here with Sergio for a fight, (international matchmaker) Sampson Lewkowicz said to wear them, so security would know I was part of the entourage. I did and kept on wearing them ever since.”
