| Finally we're getting fights again...
So whose the worst matchup for Bute? Why?
Can anyone in the division beat him? How?
I've got some opinions, but I'll wait to hear from some other people first. |

| Oh boy hypothetical fights! I miss these.
Floyd UD
Most advantageous matchup: Probably Bika again. Or Pav-lack if he decides to move up. Most disadvantageous matchup: Dirrell. Bute has never had to contend with someone with reflexes and speed superior to his own. Most exciting: Froch. Most boring-est: Abraham

| But I think Bute can win all because he is slick, cocky, and most flashiest. Legacy don't pay bills, and Bute is undefeated. The only one better is Andre Ward because he is also undefeated.
Hypothetically, Floyd has them all beat.

| I really didn't mean this as a Floyd thing. I just think all of the top guys at 168 have very unique styles.
Bute and Froch would be fun because they both fight sideways and have similar jabs so they'd mirror each other. Brinkley showed that Bute can be hit with a well timed jab and a straight and Froch has excellent timing. And I don't see Froch falling for the uppercut because Bute hasn't shown he can hook. The thing is Bute's rangier, faster and has more pop. Froch is way more durable though.
Bute and Abe would be boring I think. I don't really see how Abe will touch Bute. If Dirrell could keep Abe at range, it will be target practice for Bute.
Bute and Ward is the fight I need to see. Ward can crowd him, which I haven't seen Bute have to deal with. Bute is the better athlete and smart which is new for ward. Throw in that Bute's a southpaw, Ward can switch. Bute seems like he'd have trouble with a southpaw because he only uses his right to set up his left or in flurrying. I don't know if he could keep a good southpaw honest. That and Ward has great timing and smarts like Froch.
Bute vs. Kessler or Dirrell could also be fun. Not to mention Bika and Pavlik. Even though Pavlik would be roasted, I think it would be fun to watch. |

That doesn't mean it wouldn't be a fun rematch. Bika's not an easy out for anyone. At the very least he can do more than Brinkley. |

| It would be fun to watch Pavlik/Bute for as long as it lasted. Ward can handle him, but it would be close. Froch/Bute would be an all out war (like all of Froch's fights), but Taylor outboxed Froch for 11 1/2 rounds so Bute could probably decision him. | |

I was just kidding around and trolling about Floyd. Froch is like Andrade with more craft, and will look to press. This fight is actually quite winnable for Froch if he can make Bute uncomfortable. Abraham is an interesting case because one would think Bute could just shoeshine his way to victory. Bute AA is tricky when defending against body shots and likes to use elbows a lot. Bute REALLY likes his body shot. If he gets cocky with it Abraham can put him to sleep with one shot. It would be boring from an action perspective but I'd like to see how it technically plays out.

Bute has enough speed, power, and boxing ability to give Andre some anxiety. When Dirrell feels anxious, he gives away rounds by running. Most disadvantageous matchup has to be Ward. Ward has ample handspeed, footspeed, and the ability to box and maul. That would be a great fight with alot of momentum shifts (from round to round and within rounds).

I've got some opinions, but I'll wait to hear from some other people first. Bute has been impressive since he came close to being KO'd by Andrade in their 1st fight, it remains to be see how Bute would do against some of the other top Super-mids, (Froch, Abraham, Kessler, Ward, et al) but at this point you have to believe he would hold his own. 168, is hands down the best/most competitive division in boxing right now, with some great fights on the horizon, a good deal for us fans. BTW, i'm becoming a big fan of Bute, the guy can bang, and he's entertaining.

| Ward and Abraham maybe the only one that can beat Bute. Froch and Kessler maybe a tad too slow, however those would be good fights. Those would be good Euro wars, but Bute comes out on top with a D. Slow ass Andrade was nailing Bute at will, why wouldnt Kessller and Froch? . I agree with Captin about Dirrell, once Andre starts panicing he gives the fight away. Dirrell doesnt have what it takes to fight with balls for 12 rounds. Bute UD
I got a feeling Bute will be beating Abraham til Abraham lands one bomb and its lights out. I dont think Bute can take a punch very well.
With Wards adjusting style, he can win a UD. Ward my not have pop, but he does get respect from his opponents. Ward is just as skillful as it gets.

He never has been in trouble (as far as I know) except for the first Andrade fight. And he was totally gassed late in that fight. He looked like he was about to fall over (and not from punches). It resembled Wlad in the first Lamon Brewster fight (though Wlad gassed out in the 5th round).
