| Isn't Enceladus supposed to be just as hopeful for life as Titan? | |

It's not really something that needs to be "believed" Freak, it's more like a scientific certainty. If it is a certainty, why is it not yet proven? Wouldn't it be more like a scientific probability? Whatever, call it what you want OU, life giving water abounds throughout the universe, the earth is not unique is this aspect, with an infinate amount of solar systems and planets with the right conditions, i'd call it certainty. Chances are, life forms will be found in our Solar system in the near future, on for example one of Jupiter's moons, Europa. I see it as "farfetched" or religious vanity to imagine that earth is the only life sustaining Orb. and that there's no life elsewhere. http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/space/life/looking/europa.shtml

| Enceladus also has frozen water on it, outside that I don't know as much about it. | |

| No OU was correct, it's just a very high probability, it's not just about water, Carbon is also necessary, at least from everything we know about all lifeforms on Earth. | |

Ya, for a long time Europa was the leading candidate also, but these new discoveries point to more chemical signals of life, so I'd say Titan is the front runner now.

| If there is life elsewhere, why do so many believe that it MUST be carbon based or need water to exist? If we're willing to believe that it exists, then why aren't we willing to believe that it's existence is likely based upon technology far beyond our comprehension? I guarantee that if there is life beyond our own planet, it isn't what's been reported by loons for decades, coming here in lit up saucers and walking around in humanoid appearance. | |

Why is it always assumed that alien life is somehow superior to us? Seems like more often then not Aliens are thought to be more advanced than we are. I think it is far more likely that a much simpler form of life is out there.

| All are going to be true. By the end of the next decade I assume we will have confirmed life exists in several places in our own solar system, if in which case is true then we'd have to assume nearly every star system has to have life. With those kinds of odds it then becomes reasonable to assume we are a drop in the "advanced civilization bucket" | |

Just becasue it's of a different basis or technology, doesn't necessarily make it superior.

| The notion that there is no life outside of the system we inhabit is an insult to our supposed intelligence. We are limited in our ability to understand the world in which we live in on this planet. Humans do not understand life. | |
