| Will networks still be willing to put MMA on the air, or is their fear of incidents like the Mayhem-Shields scuffle going to keep them from getting back on board? And of course will we ever see UFC events on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox? I think MMA takes a step back here and isn't getting back on a network until 2012 at the earliest, and I think it won't be the UFC that gets MMA back on free TV... | |

| Talks are dead. Coker says he'll revisit next year. My thoughts are if they don't get a deal done (CBS has the power pointing to the incident as being a huge negative), does anyone else stand a chance? | |

I think will all the interest Fox has shown with FSN that Fox could be a real factor down the line.

It says they won't revisit talks until 2011. And CBS isn't too thrilled after the Mayhem fiasco. CBS has the cards and Strikeforce will probably bend and take it in the shorts in signing a deal, but I don't think a deal is immenent. My question was where does this leave MMA in relation to network deals if it doesn't get done? Does someone else ink right away, does Strikeforce go to someone else, does MMA not get seen on network TV for a while?

| Means nothing, UFC on NBC would mean everything, Zuffa's relationship with Comcast says it's more then possible. | |

| UFC has no relationship with Comcast beyond PPV. The UFC is in absolutely no hurry to move away from PPVs. Strikeforce puts on meaningful fights on a network before the UFC does. The UFC is getting less and less generous with free cards. | |

| They have a relationship with VS to keep other programming off the network and for no other reason. Comcast's on demand advertising channel does a lot of advertising for PPVs but the nature of the relationship isn't much deeper. | |

Could we make a real solid PPV out of the main events of all those events combined even? The UFC is significantly less generous with quality events.

| They've been solid and including WEC cards under Zuffa as a whole they're really solid, imagine what you'll see when they merge. | |

| WEC ratings are a joke. The UFC is moving towards not giving away those fights anyway. WEC wouldn't excel on network TV. The merger of the UFC and WEC means even less free cards of value. No one gets that.
No one is really getting anything right now.

| Less free cards? mixed cards... more fights....more cards....
They have a continued relationship with Vs. to keep a good relationship with Vs, they could have moved the whole thing over to Spike any chance they wanted and it wouldn't have been no big deal.

They have a continued relationship with Vs. to keep a good relationship with Vs, they could have moved the whole thing over to Spike any chance they wanted and it wouldn't have been no big deal. They have signed deals with VS. So they couldn't move whenever they wanted. Anyway, they're on VS just so other companies stay off VS. It's strategic. They don't get anything from VS. really apart from keeping competition from having another avenue.

| They signed deals with Vs. to continure that relationship is what I said, this was around the time Comcast was completing it's takedover of NBC, what I said was that they could have just not resigned, moved the WEC over to Spike and it wouldn't have been a big deal, who are they afraid of going to Vs.? SF isn't going there, Bellator? It's strategic to keep that relationship close incase they want to make a deal to get on NBC if you ask me, that's why when Vs. wanted UFC cards on their station they said fine. | |

| i think they'll be back on next year but i don't think it's bad. CBS has not exactly done great for MMA by using Kimbo Slice as the face of prime time MMA and then being sporadic and half assed promotion with the Strikeforce cards. These guys have shown little commitment to helping the growth of MMA even before the Mayhem-Cesar Gracie brawl so who gives a rats ass about them until they are.
UFC is just fine where they are at with Spike and Vs....and Strikeforce is good on Showtime. I think ESPN will start showing cards in the future as well. I doubt we'll see MMA outside of basic cable and premium cable very often. Networks like CBS will jump on the wagon every now and then but i don't think we'll have see MMA as a mainstay on network.
