Mike Tyson should easily be a lock. |

| I swear Ali, the more I think about it, the more I see our HOF (Ninja) and Immortal's list as a true barometer of the best fighters ever. I think the Boxing HOF is more of a story of the history of the sport than a list of the very best figthers. Is that right or wrong? I don't know. Buster Douglass would never make our list, but wouldn't people want to know about him years from now? I think this is the reality of the HOF because of poor historians and the reputation our sport has as "The Bastard of Sports." Is it that bad of a reality? Probably not, as long as we have our own list. (smile). | |

| In my never very humble view I'd love it if as accomplished a fighter as Kostya was THE marginal guy for the HOF. If HE was the guy we all argued about etc. The guys who weren't as accomplished as Kostya would get no consideration, guys who were more accomplished probably go in.
Kostya's key accomplishment in my view? Being a THE MAN champion with 5-6 defenses as THE MAN and beating a dozen ranked guys.
Now if you knock off say four HOFers and miss one of the above categories? I'd probably include that guy as well.

Mike Tyson should easily be a lock. I think Tyson gets in easy but should he? That is a better question. |

| i think that they all make it.
JCC is an obvious choice.
tyson was a good fighter but i think that HOF is based on what they did for the sport along with their accomplishments and i think that tyson should get in.
tyszu was a great fighter. his career seemed kind of short but he did pretty much wipe out the division.

tyszu was a great fighter. his career seemed kind of short but he did pretty much wipe out the division. See I dont think what Tyson did for the sport should come into account. He made a ton of money for that. This should be all about accomplishment and I dont think he should get in. But he will. |

| Tyson and Chavez should be locks, Tszyu should make it the first time too, but his resume isn't as strong as Tyson's and JCC Sr's. | |

I would put Tszyu in before Tyson. Tyson's resume IMO is not good enough. The guy never really beat another great HW. |

I'm not a Tyson fan by any means sooner, I just think he did more then enough in the early part of his career to assure himself of a first ballot entry to the BHOF. In my mind, Tszyu's TKO loss to Hatton took away a lot of his credibility.

But he will. im not saying that i disagree with you that it should be about accomplishment but thats not how it is. so with how the HOF works, yes, tyson should make it. if it were based just on accomplishment then no, he doesnt make it.

| Of course Tyson should get in. He cleaned out the division and unified the titles. Hes the only man to beat Michael Spinks(and by KO in the 1st round!) and the only person to KO Larry Holmes. | |

I wouldnt give him much credit for that Holmes win. Holmes was 38, a few years retired and got less than 2 months to train for the fight. However Chavez, Tszyu and Tyson are locks IMO for what they've done in the ring. If Tyson and Tszyu dont get in the first try (doubtful), they'll get in eventually.

| chavez is a deserving first ballot hofamer..tyson will be voted in.no doubt in my mind.mike has some pluses after all he did ko bruno twice beat ruddick twice koed spinks ..briggs williams and thomas all on the downside of there career but were credible fighters.holmes ko for reasons given in other posts and a boring win over bonecrusher smith and a huge ko over berbick.nooo great fighters there except larry but none the less legit contenders..add tubbs and tucker to the list..to mikes credit there were some devistating kos...on the downside is a major loss to buster douglas and the image of mikes latter fights where he litterly quit 4 times..mcbribe and williams were 2 tomatoe cans he looked for a way out by chewing off hollifield ear twice and after a round and a half did nothing in a attempt to win against lewis..went down and took the ten count.sorry i strongly feel mike could of gotten up..theres the minus side.. i view mike as a great puncher for 3 or 4 rounds and a guy who truly never learned how to fight.extremly fast hands with power but a frontrunner..under adverse conditions he folded every time..thoses are the other minus-negatives.. will he get in..yes.if i had a vote this time around i would not vote for him because of the negatives of folding and quiting several times..the following year i would vote for mike based on the pluses...tsyzu his career honestly i did not follow closely.his resume is good for sure..based on past history including some resent the smaller guys fought often.tsyzu did not..ill view that as a negative but not a deal breaker.will he get in..i think so..would i vote for him..probably not the first or second time.part of my reasoning is tooo many little guys in the past did more fought more and are not in..whoever said hes boarderline may be right.hes one guy that others over a few years would have to give me some good reasons to overcome my thoughts of boarderline.they will probably succeed in changing my mind in 3 or 4 years but after my efforts to encourage the writers and the hall the merits of lets say a raul raton macias and a few others.....good topic. | |

So a win over a LHW and a 38 year old Holmes gets you into the Hall. Not to mention his huge loses to all those bums like Buster in the middle of his prime. He is so overrated its not funny. I loved watching Tyson fight but he doesnt deserve the hall based on his resume. |

In my opinion he gets in but isn't a lock. it's a borderline call don't you think? does being inducted to the HoF give a false reflection of Tszyu's career a bit?

| Tsyzu gets in for sure. He cleaned out the division and destroyed Zab Judah when he was undefeated. He lost to Hatton in his last ever fight when he was past his peak. A peak Kostya destroys Hatton. |
