| Too much inactivity: One fight in 2008 two in '09 December will be his third in '10 and first against anyone ranked this year.
Level of competition has been terrible since the Darchinyan KO: Mthalane is the only ranked guy he's fought in three years.
Finally testing himself: He's fighting the ranked Sydorenko in December.
Why is a 27 year old fighting one, two and three times a year of the course of the last three years? Why is the level of competition so low?

I could see that if he fought 6-8 times a year. He's moderately inactive and he's fighting cans. Makes no sense to me why anyone would treat their career like this.

| Top Rank has held him back, it was a stupid career move by Nonito changing from Shaw to Arum. He may be getting a lot of money for fighting cans with Arum, but Shaw was getting him TV dates and with ranked competition. | |

I don't know how stupid it is with Shaw's reputation as of late. Angulo, Bradley's contract and threatening to hold back the Alexander fight.

| I mean Shaw is probably horrible, but he showed he was at least taking Donaire in the right direction. Angulo was actually going into the right ath even after the loss, but Angulo fucked himself, not Shaws fault for his credit. | |

Gary Shaw is promoting, meaning paying the guy. It's not his responsibility to make sure the guy he's paying or getting paydays for is legal to make money in the US? What I'm saying is even if Shaw is making good fights he seems lost on the business end of things. That being the case It's understandable why guys are leaving him. He doesn't seem to be running a tight ship.

| I am beginning to think hiring his wife to manage him was a stupid idea. |

| It's almost like Donaire said "Hey, Muhammad Ali had to take three year hiatus, maybe that's what all great fighters should do."
It's an Ali tribute! | |
