| Again, my ratings are compared to average THE MAN champions across history.
Talent-He's only average sized and decently powered for a heavyweight. His chin remains an issue. At cruiser he was probably a B+ talent. But at heavy? No better than average. C.
Achievement-THE MAN champion at cruiser and a couple of decent wins at heavyweight. But he is clearly avoiding the most dangerous possible matchups. C-.
Marketability-He's charismatic, good looking, well spoken and dynamic. A
Support System-I haven't the vaguest idea. But not taking on the best? Bailing out on fights? Fighting three times in the last two years in his prime years? On the other hand he does have Brother Ali's unreserved adoration and that's got value. Call it a gentleman's C.
Growth Potential-This one works inversely to achievement. There are at least two and maybe three huge fights for Haye that could really change his level of accomplishment and open up the US for him. Of course the question is does he really have the potential to beat the Ukranians? Maybe with some help from Father Time. B+

| The fact Haye is a factor in the HW division is a poor reflection of how bad this division is. | |

And those men were what? 38 and 36 respectively? By the way, you need to say a couple of Our Fathers for Pennance because the Boxing Gods may have the hooded dude with the sickle looking for you. I mean you did make the words "great" and "Ruiz" collide in the same sentence

| This ranking I don't understand. Is this backdated to his career at Cruiser?

| Talent B The champ at 200lb and had his way with the HW contenders he's faced
Achievement B- Could be doing more at HW
Marketability B Hurting his own cause by trashing the Klitschkos and not facing either yet
Support System-B+
Growth Potential-A | |

| A's are given way too easily. 4 out of 5 categories have the letter A for him. if he gets that many A's then you should just start giving everybody A's because he in no way deserves any A. | |

| Haye is hard to guage at heavyweight, but if we're comparing him against the current (sad) state of the division, I'd say it breaks down like this:
Talent: B+ (good power, decent movement but still a questionable chin)
Achievement: B+ (ducking the Klits drags him down here, otherwise he's moved up and won a strap, beating a couple of name guys who were bigger than him, which is semi-impressive)
Marketability: A+ (the guy could be a huge star if he fought with half the intensity he puts into talking and promoting himself)
Support Sytem: C (I agree with Marble on this one, his people clearly aren't giving him the best direction in his career right now)
Growth potential: B (he's not exactly a young up-and-coming guy, I don't see him getting much better in the ring than he is now; but he could still improve, especially in the workrate).

| Marketability-A + anyone who gives Haye a lower grade for this title is clueless.

| Talent-B-. He lacks size and strength, though he has good speed and some pop. Achievement-B. Impressive Cruiser run. Wished he'd stuck around for Adamek and Cunningham. Solid wins at Heavy to get him started. Marketability-A-. Big personality. Can fight exciting. Blends a lot of different marketing demographics. Support System-A. He gets a ton of publicity and big turn outs. And his team is smart enough not to feed him to the Klits. They know he'd get licked so they're biding they're time. I hate it, but it's smart. Growth Potential-A. If he somehow becomes The Man at Heavy (possible) he would be a star to the degree of Mayweather and Pacquiao if not bigger.
The main thing is...David Haye needs to fight the top guys eventually and he might be burning bridges. |
