| 6th round KO for Alvarez, not easy against Baldomir, I don't ever remember Baldy being knocked down, much less knocked out, impressive win for this kid.
3 fights, 3 KOs, prettty good night of boxing so far.
Up next, Mosley vs. Mora, i'm gonna say Shane stops Mora in one of the later rounds, and makes it 4 KO's in a row, the night of the knockouts.

| Alvarez needs to face someone in his prime. Anyone in the top 20 at 147 who isn't past it. Don't pick on old guys or guys moving way up in weight.
How about Alvarez vs (147): Mike Jones or Kell Brook. 2 prospects.

- right Marble, does his job. Lampley like normal going way overboard. Baldomir is hard to stop but he's 39. He re-hydrated from 153 to 169, meaning he cut a ton to make weight. He looked soft (my word), fat (someone else's word).
Good win. Taking out Cotto's brother (whose best weight was at least 10 pounds south) and a 39 year old, faded former welterweight champ, don't show enough to make a judgment. Agree on all of it. But there are some things to like about the kid. Good power, decent craft (MOVE YOUR FEET), likes to fight. I want to see him against someone who is what Alvarez isn't, an exceptional natural athlete. I want to see if his craft, power and desire are enough like they were for a guy like Arguello, or not enough.

| Is it just me or does Alvarez make you think that Danny "Little Red" Lopez went to Guadalajara 20 years & 9 months ago & got lucky with a local girl? | |

| He's still 20. That is why I'm reserving judgment on Alvarez.
He needs to develop his craft if he is going to compete at the elite level at 147.

He needs to develop his craft if he is going to compete at the elite level at 147. Like a bunch of guys recently, Berto, the Peterson bros, JML the open question is are their feet just bad as in utterly untalented (can't really be helped much) or are they poorly taught. Alvarez is not the kind of guy who can beat top guys standing still I don't think. Check all the moves Arguello (hardly a guy with legendary feet) puts on in about five seconds of video. Slow feet plus good craft can work.

Alfonso Gomez, Freddy Hernanadez, Soto-Karass, or Abregu. I'd rather see Alvarez have to deal with speed. That is what Jones and Brook have (both would have vulnerability because Alvarez has some power). If he can't deal with their speed, how can he deal with the speed of the elite guys? Gomez, Soto-Karass, and Abregu, don't wow me as opponents. Decent fighters, but all are speed deficient. Hernandez-I like watching him fight. he and Alvarez could make for a good fight. Just don't put him in with someone slower than him. He has to get used to faster guys because the elite guys are faster!!!!! A win over a tough but slower guy isn't going to tell me alot about his true potential.

| Alvarez said all the right things too. No rush, take 1 year or 2 and keep improving before going after top fighters.
Is there anyway to start threads that only members who post consistently for streams? |

As do I....I ain't bettin' agin' him, but somethin' tells me it could be weird. I just wonder if Cotto and Clottey can mark him, and this guy is gonna have 6-7 inches of reach and punch far more often than either of those guys and he'll outweigh Manny by 15 or so pounds? It's at least possible he runs Manny out of the ring.
