| The Directors of the World Boxing Association made a decision that prior to the unification between our featherweight champion, Yuriorkis Gamboa, and the IBF champ, Orlando Salido, he learned of the health of Chris John, through medical certification. Since July 14, he received a medical certification notice which stated that the rib injury will force him to rest for a long time. Given this situation, it was decided that it was appropriate to give John the status of champion in recess, which is why it was allowed for the fight with Gamboa and Salido (who defended his IBF featherweight title), which was held last Saturday in Las Vegas, to become the new "super" champion. Similarly, it was agreed that the winner, who was Gamboa, and the injured champion John, must fight within 120 days - with the clock beginning on September 11. All of those terms were disclosed to the parties involved before they their commitment on Saturday. It was also agreed that in the event it goes to a purse bid, there will be a split of 55 for John and 45 for Gamboa, who was winner of the match with Salido. However, the winner of John vs Gamboa will be named the sole "super champion" of the WBA at featherweight. If a problem occurs with the IBF's mandatory challenger, the situation will be discussed directly between the sanctioning organizations, as agreed. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=30937 |

| I would be the first to yell "exposed" like a bitchy fanboy if Gamboa gets jabbed to pieces by John.. lol
But Arum won't put either Gamboa or JML in with John or Cabby. Don't want his megabucks payday to be spoiled.

| No way this happens. I hate when they insult our intelligence with nonsense like this. John will be hurt or have some rare disease and Gamboa will not be" allowed" to fight a threat other than JuanMa. | |

| and they say (Marble) that all the Organizations are bad (still kind of are lol). I love this fight and I wonder if both guys are willing to take it. I guess from the article both guys since before saturday knew they would have a showdown, but something tells me it isnt going to go down. Its like its too good to be true. Is Arum willing to risk Gamboas record with a good fighter in John? and is John willing to finally fight someone good? will John even be able to be healthy till fight night? shit John pulls an ass muscle taking a shit. However I hold this fight in a much bigger magnitude than Gamboa-Lopez. This bout is a toss up. John is a better boxer, but he doesnt have the punch to hurt Gamboa. John was staggered bad by Juarez and Gamboa is way faster, hits harder and is in a way higher level than Juarez. I think Gamboa can actually whoop John's ass. | |

| I doubt Uncle Bob will let it happen. Gamboa/Lopez is his big project. Arum doesn't always protect his fighters like this; he threw Cotto to the wolves (Cotto just happened to respond pretty well), but this whole thing he's putting together is an artificially manufactured megafight.
Maybe AFTER the fight, he will have either fight John or Caballero. But until these two gents JML and Gamboa get it on, expect them to be against mostly overmatched opponents.

Well both guys will have atleast one bout in early 2011 before they fight in the summer of 2011. It would be a fantasy to have Lopez-Caballero and John-Gamboa, but that to Arum is asking too fucking much. I see Gamboa or Lopez fighting Rojas ealy next year.
