| A reliable source has informed BoxingScene.com that former lineal middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik will leave for training camp on Monday. Pavlik is set to face Daniel Edouard on the Manny Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito undercard on November 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight is set for a max weight of 164-pounds. Pavlik is taking the fight very seriously and is looking to hire a nutritionist to assist him with making weight. Pavlik struggled to make weight for his previous fight, a decision loss to Sergio Martinez in April. After making the 160 pound weight limit for the fight with Martinez, Pavlik rehydrated to 179 pounds, according to HBO's unofficial scale. According to the source, Pavlik has set his sights on a showdown with WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm after he dispatches of Edouard. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=30940 |

| He had a rematch ready to go with the champ but said he can't make the weight. Everyone is ducking Martinez.
It's pretty bad when the heavyweight champ and the middleweight champ have to beg contenders to fight.

| Two years too late. But not bad for a guy trying to fight his way back to the top. | |

| A nutritionist won't do him any good if he only uses him during training camp.
Pavlik's problems stem from when he isn't training.

Pavlik's problems stem from when he isn't training. Reason 621 why fighters should stay active.

| Preaching to the choir, brother marble. If guys fought more than twice a year then they wouldn't be 30-40 pounds over weight when training camp started | |

Pavlik's problems stem from when he isn't training. Reason 621 why fighters should stay active. Bum of the month club would have suited a guy like Pavlik. Instead he chose bum of the every six month club and looked like shit when tested after Taylor II. He should have tried to make a fight with Sturm after Gary Lockett, he instead tried his hand at fighting Hopkins at Light Heavy. Pavlik is finished IMO because of his inactivity. That and Jack "Double Fuckin Jab" Loew.

| I'm losing faith in Pavlik but I have even less faith in Sturm. It seems like he's content to fight nobodies in his back yard. | |

Well he is getting paid well in Germany and was robbed when he ventured to America. |

| Good fight, pretty even
It would be interesting to see if Sturm could last full 12 rds out boxing Pavlik w/out getting hurt
Not sure who takes it | |

Well he is getting paid well in Germany and was robbed when he ventured to America. Good point. Why come across the pond and get screwed when you can stay home and get paid? This would be a good match style-wise, but Pavlik is too big for Sturm, IMO.

| Pavlik will probably knock him out later in the fight like his first fight with Taylor but isn't he ducking Martinez? | |

| He fought him already, clearly lost, but because he's not fighting him again he's ducking?

| How in the flying fuck are we not following this?
Avoiding fighting someone because you know they'll win = ducking.

| I don't really see Kelly as avoiding Martinez, yes he had a rematch clause in the contract but I am not really blaming him for wanting to go down another route at Middleweight. |
