| BoxingScene.com was advised by Josh Dubin, manager for Kermit Cintron, that a September fight with WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm is very unlikely to happen. BoxingScene reported last week that Sturm's team reached out to promoter Lou DiBella to secure Cintron as the opponent for a show in Germany on September 4. DiBella said the offer from Sturm's team was "very low." Besides the money, Dubin says there were scheduling conflicts for Cintron, which prevented him from having a full training camp by the September date. Cintron's side made a request to push the date back to October, but Sturm's team couldn't move the date because of their commitments to the local television network. "We would have looked at their offer more carefully if they were able move the date to October," Dubin said. "Kermit didn't have a problem fighting Sturm in Germany, where you have to knock the guy out to get a decision. Kermit gets a lot of sh*t from people but there are very few fighters who are willing to fight anyone. He took a lot of fights on short notice, like Alredo Angulo, Sergio Martinez. If he had enough time for an eight week camp, he would have no problem fighting Sturm." http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=29160Erm not enough time to prepare, It's July !!!!!!!!! The fight would be two months away, surely that's enough time to prepare unless you're Cris Arreola. |

| If Cintron had fought at 160 then I'd give him crap about saying it would be too short of a camp.
Since Cintron has fought at 147 and 154, a nice long camp is not too much to ask in order to move up again (and face a belt holder), without the benefit of a tune up fight at the new weight.
July 12th-September 4th-Even if Cintron started training today he wouldn't have that much time to get ready. Plus if it is in Germany, he'd have to travel over around August 30th. So he'd have a shorter camp. | |

| Isn't a six week camp what you need to prepare for a fight, minimum being about four weeks depending on how your lifestyle is outside the ring ?
Considering Cintron's options right now I think he's a bit silly to turn this down, Sturm isn't the biggest Middleweight out there he's roughly Martinez size plus he's already been knocked out. If he lost Kermit could just say it was a weight class too far. |

| I didnt really have that much interest in this match up. If Paul doesnt take the rematch with Sergio why not Cintron-Martinez 2? Would be for the vacant 154 Ring title. Cant be that hard to make with both being with Dibella. | |

| The first Martinez vs Cintron fight wasn't that exciting, their styles didn't clash well. The 10th round knockdown was the only real drama during the fight. So I doubt people will really clamor for a rematch. |

| If Kermit "the jumping frog" Cintron loses at this point in his career he might as well start training for MMA, he can not afford another loss at this point and still stay relevant and not just a gate keeper like he was headed before the Angulo mini upset!! | |

| Nothing really, Paul isn't interested in a rematch and Gary Shaw won't put Angulo in with Martinez. |
