| J (Atl) Danno- whats the latest on Williams-Martinez?
Dan Rafael (12:16 PM) Still supposed to happen Nov. 20, but still no signed deal and time is running out to lock it up. The Martinez side is not happy with the foot dragging on the Williams side and neither is HBO. |

| I have a feeling PW is going duck Martinez with every passing day because of that unsigned contracted | |

| I'm so frustrated. HBO needs to tell PW he takes this fight or he doesn't fight on the network ever again (and Showtime is never going to pay him 1/2 as much). | |

| I scored the first fight for Martinez (but still very close). That was scoring a fight as it is to be scored, round by round.
The totality of the fight was worse than my score.
I think Martinez beats him in a rematch (on scorecards this time).
A thing I found interesting about the first fight was the fighter/trainer relationship for Martinez. There was specific simple directions given. Stuff like, you are a doing a great job, but please give me a right to the body. You start seeing rights to the body. Couple of rounds later, still want rights to the body, but don't forget the straight left, especially as a lead. Start seeing more lead lefts again. Great job by corner and fighter working as a team.
It is the exception rather than the norm to hear trainers telling a fighter something useful. Too often you just hear to use the jab (or double the fucking jab Kelly- in the case of Jack Loew). Or stupid motivational junk round after round about not doing the things you did in training. | |

| I feel bad for Martinez, at 35 he shouldn't be sitting around waiting for opponents to sign contracts, he's got a short window right now to make money and build a legacy. |

| Yeah, Martinez needs to make what money he can in the remainder of 2010 and 2011. Nothing is guaranteed in life or in boxing, especially at age 35. | |

| Kelly Pavlik didn't want anymore of the champ. Paul Williams is terrified of the champ. Angulo didn't want to be in the same ring as the middleweight champ. The list of fighters ducking Martinez reads like a who's who of boxing.
Sergio is a bad man. | |

You're probably thinking of Taylor Fleig, but I think he's still a Williams fan. He's not an obnoxious bias one though like some of the morons on ESPN. |
