Retirement nearing for the elder Marquez brother?

I hope Marquez walks away after fighting Katsidis. He isn't going to get another shot at Pac and I'm not thrilled with the idea of him going above 135 for anyone but Pac.

Marquez should retire after Katsidis, but I have a feeling he'll still make a run at 140. I really think he will take on Erik Morales next year and probably Khan if hes able to win his next two fights (Madaida or Ortiz and then the winner of Bradley-Alexander)

I think everyone on the board will agree with hoping Marquez retires after the Katsidis fight.

I won't hold it against Marquez if he sticks around to face Morales.

It's kinda to believe that Morales is quite a bit younger than JMM. Morales would steer clear of JMM and any other top fighter if he knew what was good for him.

But then again, this is the guy who turned southpaw against Pac in round 12 and risked completely blowing a fight in which he had won. So he probably doesn't know what's good for him.

In an interview with Ring magazine Juan said he begged Top Rank for a Morales fight, but they would never grant him the opportunity.

Marquez can do whatever the hell he wants in my book. He's been a pleasure to watch for a long time.

In my eyes he's still a Junior Lightweight who just so happens to beat guys at 135.

I think a prime Morales stops JMM. But to be honest, JMM would give anyone a tough fight. He was stylistically more of a counter punching purist back then. It wasn't till a little more recently he started opening up more to get more fans and people to pay attention to him.

A prime EM at 122lbs beats up JMM. Did JMM even fight at 122lbs? If they fight at Featherweight at the top of their games I still see EM beating JMM 9 out of 10 times. EM was just that special at 122-126lbs!
