| Taylor drops out after the first round
Green proves to be a terrible replacement
Abraham is DQ'd and could have possibly ruined Dirrell's career
Froch does nothing but complain
Kessler the original favorite drops out due to eye injury
Ward and Dirrell can't agree on venue
Bute arguably the best guy in the division isn't even in the tournament
Who the hell will replace Kessler?
I think the experiment was great for the sport but is proving to be too much of a hassle. I can't imagine networks and promoters wanting to go through this ever again. So enjoy it while it lasts folks.

I prefer it too. I just think that in the interest of the behind the scenes guys this will prove to be too much of a hassle to be done again. I really hope im wrong.

| I like the super 6, but a single elimination 8 man tourney would work better. It could be over by almost over by now and we'd have a winner crowned, along with alot of guys who had just faced very good competition (and they'd all be in line for more meaningful fights depending upon tournament performance). | |

That may just be a better way to go.

| The Super 6 was a great idea, that turned out to be flawed, but was ultimately good for boxing. With the round robin style of the tourney, they needed to have the fighters involved at least willing to fight 3 times a year. My biggest complaint is that it has taken far too long.
But in the future, I think future tournaments will be more condensed. Single elimination, and winners and losers brackets would work better IMO...

I have to admit, I made a point to tune in at the beginning but I've really waned in interest as it's gone on.

| The benefit of the super six is Showtime now have experience with a big tournament, they'll make adjustments for the next one. |

Its not them Im worried about. Its the fighters and promoters the have me fearful of preventing further tournaments. But you're right showtime will have some important experience.

| The petty quarrels between the promoters has been disappointing, after the first round of fights all of them began to fear that their guy might not make it to the next stage. |

Putting a stipulation in the contract that forbids Gary Shaw from wearing tracksuits 24/7 ? |

| Doing another super 6 was already discussed, but Bullshit Bob Arum said no way to 2 of his fighters being included.

| No, they didn't have any fighters worthy. But I don't think the super 6 would have ever happened if any of the guys were golden boy or top rank fighters. Signing for multiple fights, means giving away too much control. | |

Is Sakio Bika still with Golden Boy ? because he had an opportunity to fight for a place but turned it down. Librado Andrade is with Golden Boy but he was desperate for a Lucian Bute rematch at the time. |

| Bika I don't believe he is with golden boy. Andrade was on the path to a Bute rematch.
Golden Boy-maybe they would have stepped up if they had a fighter. Top Rank-no way, Arum is an evil motherfucker. If I go to a fight and it is a Top Rank promoted affair, I'm going to give that man a piece of my mind.

| I think they'll be able to learn from the Super 6 and improve on the model in the future. It's not perfect, but a lot worked and it's still going on. So the idea of having a round robin tourney isn't out of the question.
The issues are it's a promotional/logistical nightmare and finding that much evenly matched quality talent isn't easy. But I think once it's done everyone will assess whether it made business sense. That will be the determining factor. |

But you're right showtime will have some important experience. +1 Showtime knows to address all of this BS from the get go and have it in writing. Herschman be the end all to any issues that might come up and like you says pointed out, compress it

I think Bika and Andrade are both co promoted by GBP Andrade has Bute's people on his team as well I believe

| From where I sat, we never saw a super six in the first place. "Super" is not a description of any of these fighters nor their fights. Just an opinion. | |
