| I propose we make a statement of purpose and shared belief regarding the boxing section of Ninja's so newcomers have a way of seeing what they are getting into here.
Here is my starting point. All suggestions, comments, improvements, insults, wisecracks and the throwing of fruit gratefully received. I put in brackets beliefs of mine that I KNOW are controversial.
1. Thou shalt honor THE MAN champions above all else. As of now Ring Champions are the closest we have. If Ring fails in its responsibilities we shall move on.
2. Alphabet straps shall not be acknowledged as championships and shall be derided on a regular basis.
3. Thou shalt require that fighters be daring matchmakers, show up in shape and make weight and conduct themselves in the ring as warriors. Failure in the aforementioned shall be acknowledged through ridicule.
4. Fighters coming up should fight monthly in fights designed to teach and challenge. Established fighters should fight 4-5 times per year half of which may be tune-ups. Marquis names [and fighters over 35] can do what they want, they've earned it.
5. Boxing records are only meaningful in the context of opposition faced. [Being unbeaten is often reason for suspicion.]
6. Don King, Bob Arum, Golden Boy Productions [and the Texas Commission] are parasitic purveyors of untruths and sources of evil in the boxing world.
7. Luis Resto and Antonio Margarito are unredeemable boxing atrocities.
8. Kenny Bayless and Steve Smoger should referee most big fights.
9. Terms like exposed and robbery and derogatory descriptions of professional fighters like bum, trash, coward etc. are reserved for extreme situations [and Kermit Cintron.]
[10. The Technical Decision and foul rules as currently constituted should revert back to the simpler rules of yesteryear. ]
[12. Fighters should weigh-in the day of the fight. The ability to dry out should not be a boxing skill]
HAVE AT IT!!!!!!! | |

| I have one that I feel is necessary. Anyone coming to this site shoulder refer to the promoter at Top Rank by his proper name:
Bullshit Bob Arum
1-5 are key in my view; recognizing one man in each division, asking fighters to fight often, face good (but varied) competition, and always act as a professional should.

9 deserves some explanation
9. Terms like exposed and robbery and derogatory descriptions of professional fighters like bum, trash, coward etc. are reserved for extreme situations [and Kermit Cintron.] ;
Whitaker vs Chavez ; scored a draw was a robbery. A pure robbery. Whena fight is close but controversial don't call it a robbery. Example of a bum: Mike Jones (a heavyweight); Nagy Aguilera beat him in 2008. Jones's wonderful record is 4-13. Don't call a guy who is top 10 in a division a bum. You can have a guy who is in the top 10 in a division who is Limited, or even a handpicked opponent, but it is very difficult for someone to be top 10 in a division and be a bum!!!

| Exposed: Tyrone Brunson-middleweight prospect
21-1 (20 KOs).
First fight against a decent opponent, Carson Jones, he gets TKOd in the 3rd round. He was exposed. He built up a record against all guys with losing records (save for 1 guy whose record was 12-9-1). All hype.

| there have been a number of fights recently that were competitive, but were none the less robberies as they were quite easy to score, and the winner of most of the rounds was quite clear.
the "bum' thing gets on my nerves, calling a world level fighter a bum is ridiculous

| I think 12 is the key to everything. It's something that can realistically easily be implemented and have a major impact in a positive way. |

HAVE AT IT!!!!!!! I drew attention to the term "robbery" because, just by coincidence, I recently scored Ali - Norton III on a ten point must system. The outcry of robbery following that fight was tremendous and you had Norton going hysterical at the announcement of the unanimous decision in favor of Ali. Following that, Norton was recognized as the uncrowned champion. Of course, I thought Norton won the fight, but after all these years I took it upon myself to finally score it. My card came out to a draw. Now, granted, Norton may have won or Ali may have squeaked it out, but who ever deserved the decision did not win by more than 2 points. I'd hardly call that a robbery. Also, went back and scored the Holyfield - Lewis I. Surprise of all surprises, I scored it a draw as well. (Keep in mind that I don't score even rounds.) Going into the 9th round, I had Lennox ahead by 4 points. In my opinion, Lennox stopped fighting and I gave the last four rounds to Evander. There are extreme cases of robberies (Ali - Jimmy Young/ Anthony Hembrick - Leonza Barber) however, most of the time I find the judges know what they're doing.
